I agree - Max is a great game. I believe the Easter Sale has ended in New Zealand already (It's Tues Noon here). AppShopper shows it at the sale price, but I think that's outdated information. The reason I'm not certain is because itunes and the AppStore app both list the price as "Installed". Is there a way to see the price of a game you've already got installed?
I don't know if this really counts but Rolando 1 and 2 are 2D side scrollers in a way. Pretty old but they just got updated with retina display graphics. If you don't have them, I would recommend them.
Yep the EA games still show on sale in the US AppStore. You can also always check the 1st page of the designated thread and/or the app preview link. +1 to that! Both classics that are higly recommended and look beautiful with Retina Display.
took me A LOT longer to get to 4-1 (where I'm stuck currently) EDIT: to ^ I heard bad things about it, but I don't have it.
yea, it's around the same difficulty imo, but Mos Speedrun has longer levels, so more room for error, and it takes longer to get back to where you were (unless you died early).
Oh yeah! I always get all badges before I move on so speedrun takes me tens (maybe even 100 or more on some) of tries, but I can get through on a coin+skull run in a couple of tries. LOE has easier time stuff, but the briefcases can be a challenge. In Mos, it's a matter of finding it. but the speedruns are what made me take so long in general
Why would you buy games you know you wouldn't like lol..if you're not a RPG fan, I highly doubt you'll enjoy Aralon. It's a pretty hardcore RPG as far as iOS RPGs are concerned. It's an awesome game though, very awesome. I've always been a RPG fan, so yeah, biased.
I figured as much, just seeing if it was one of those games that could change my opinion on the genre.
There's nothing else like it on the iOS at least. So, who knows, it might. Building your character and exploration of the enormous and beautiful landscape are pretty big parts of the game. The story isn't half bad either. In essence, it's the only western RPG you'll find on the iOS. It's nothing like playing KRPGs or even JRPGs if that's what you mean by "the genre" (games like Zenonia and Final Fantasy, respectively).
Here's a thread with ideas of what games are good for getting into the genre: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=90144&highlight=rpgs
