It's an amazing game if you give it a chance. The problem is, is that so many people quit after the tutorial they don't see how awesome it is, if you can just push through the beginning tutorial (It's really an extreme test of patience but don't give up), and then can push through the first map learning stuff as you go you'll really start to get the hang of it and really like it. The controls are great once you get the hang of them.
I'm going to give this one a try. It's always a shame when someone quits a game before they can really get into it.
A couple of days ago I was also asking myself the same question, read here and there, and even asked the developers about it and they said that there should be a patch coming up soon, hopefully before the year finishes, that should fix these problems. Since I was so itchy I decided to just buy it (two days ago). I tried the tutorial, and even tho it wasn't OMG, it was not as bad as some people might say. Heck, I even stayed until late last night playing (I'm level 10) and I could barely wake up this morning to go work (almost got late!) :/ The game is also universal.
Broken Sword 2, sequel to one of the best games on the device. I have yet to pick it up, but I'll do so today
Haven't played it, but if it's anything like the first one, it's amazing but definitely not for everyone. What on sale stuff should I pick up? Neuroshima Hex is one, what else?
I loved it when I played it. Lots of replay value, unluckables, extra content. One of my favorite games for the iPhone.
If IGN said that, then people who don't have it yet should definitely stay away from Archetype, lmao.
Well, this sucks... Apparently Broken Sword 2 isn't compatible with the iPod Touch 2G... CRAP! Any other good recommendations? I have $24 to spend right now and a bunch of games I want to play from Thursday's crapload of releases. I just want to put it out there that I really just don't want Real Racing 2 right now (not looking for any racing games at all... the ones I have are fine), so please don't recommend that one.
Well, here are some rcommendations from me: Aralon Nova 2 Battlefield Bad Company 2 Here are some good recommmendations from others that I heard are good: Shadow Guardian Eternal Legacy Hook Worlds
Thanks... I think I'll pass on NOVA for now. It's a lot of space on my 8GB iPod that I'd prefer not to take up for a game I'm not absolutely dying to play. I picked up Bad Company 2 and despite some crappy framerates at times, it's a ton of fun, as well as Hook Worlds which I'm addicted to right now. I'm dying to get Aralon (especially after how fun what I got to play of the beta was), but it says in the game description that you need a 3rd/4th Gen device to play it, even though the system requirements on the side say it's compatible with all devices. Does it work on an iPod 2G? As for Shadow Guardian and Eternal Legacy, I've been looking at those... I'm really close to clicking 'buy' on Shadow Guardian, although I'm a bit concerned with EL. The battle system looks a bit... weird, to put it bluntly. I'm not exactly sure how it works, but if I get a better idea of how it works and like how it looks I'll give it a go. So I'm definitely going to pick up Aralon (if it works with my iPod) and Shadow Guardian now. I was also considering Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and possibly the new Rock Band game. Good ideas?
On my iTouch 2g, Aralon keeps crashing. But, I just downloaded th update, so hopefully it works fine now. As for Shadow Guardian, I heard it doesn't work well for iTouch 2g. Sorry for recommending. I heard the new Rock Band is nothin special but UMK 3 might be a good choice. If you end up buying UMK 3, tell me if its good. Nice choices with BBC2 and Hook Worlds!
Yeah, you can't even get Shadow Guardian for the iPod Touch 2G, which is a really weird move for Gameloft. What a shame... I was really looking forward to that one. I might give Aralon a try then. I really don't have much to lose at this point, and it's a pretty amazing game. I'm just a bit nervous about throwing down $7 for a game that won't even work. And seeing as I also have nothing to lose with Mortal Kombat (aside from 7 bucks), I might as well give it a shot. Same goes for Eternal Legacy. Btw, did anyone figure out if Dead Rising will run on a 2G using the method used to get Chinatown Wars on a 1G? It's on sale and I'm a huge Dead Rising fan, so if it works I'll buy it in seconds. I'd better get that iPod Touch 4 this year... I'm getting pretty sick of not being able to play some awesome games because my device isn't good enough.
Alright, well if I do I'll let you know how it goes. If I do get it, though, it'll probably be later so I can let it download overnight, so if expect any impressions tomorrow at the earliest.
I'd hold off on Eternal Legacy - from what I've figured it's not that different from Chaos Rings, and the combat system is less than intuitive. And yes, you should definitely get an iPod Touch 4. It's amazing.
I might go for it... I love JRPG's, so I think I'd like it. I'll see how I'm feeling about it later, but I think that I'll be getting a bunch of iTunes credit soon for Christmas, so I don't think running out of money is too big an issue. And like I said, I'd better get an iPod Tough 4. I desparately need it at this point.
