Dungeon Crawlers: Deep Deep Dungeon, Sword of Fargoal (if that's flown under your radar for any reason before you went away) Racing: Reckless Racing (finally out! get it on iPad if you have one of those, has 3 extra tracks), Arcade: Yo! Sports, Final Freeway (Outrun clone), Super Mega Worm, Rogue Runner, Rush Hour Train, UFO On Tape Action: EA MMA, Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus, Mirror's Edge, Tech Demo: Epic Citadel (Unreal) Platform: Pizza Boy, Sonic 4 Episode 1 Puzzle: Trainyard
Just curious, what makes you think that? It's lauded as an amazing puzzle game by both die hard fans and newcomers alike. Do you own the game or is it just not to your tastes? Whatever, it just is far superior to Phoenix, which is like the poor man's SHMUP and isn't that good, Galaxy on Fire 2 which is overpriced, overrated and not worth buying, and Worms 2, which although is good if you like Worms is just trumped a bit by CCR. But if you insist on those 3, Worms.
Why would 'just another puzzle' game worth five bucks when I can get many great puzzles on this platform for a buck or two? Anyway, why would GoF2 be overrated? Seems great, and it's not some crappy Gameloft ripoff. And Phoenix is 1/5 price of 'CCR'.
I don't really want to argue with you - you might actually beat me, which sucks. Anyway, prices are important for buying games, in fact, they are one of the most important factors: no matter how high quality a game is, if it's short but expensive, it simply isn't worth it. I like ones with the 'most bang for a buck'.
So, you know, if it is long and only costs £3 it isn't worth it? It will easily keep you entertained as long as Worms will, which is at the same price, so your argument fails. And it isn't 'just another puzzle game'. Does universal acclaim make it just another puzzle game? Does universal acclaim for GTA, Super Mario Galaxy etc make them just another action/platformer game?
It doesn't. Worms has multiplayer, so technically unlimited gameplay without having to replay levels. EDIT: For your later edit, yes, GTA is just another adventure game, though it has its unique style and Mario games are just another platformers.
Thing is, by saying 'just another [insert game genre]' you're drawing parallels with other games of the genre even though they may be inferior or just not good. You seem like, and please fill me in on the term because it has escaped me, someone who attempts to like the opposite of current trends to seem different, so if, say, some random match three game from some indie dev fulfills all your need for puzzle games then so be it.
I love puzzle games, that's why I have 4 full folders of them on my Touch. After so many, I want something amazing if I buy some more.
Well, lots of places have said Chu Chu Rocket is amazing, and if you are such a connoisseur of puzzle games you should be willing to pay a cheap $4.99 price for it. On an unrelated note, 4 folders of puzzle games is a bit excessive. How many do you actually play, and how many are clones of other ones that again are rarely played.
To me, the only appeal is customising your character. Otherwise it is just a typical beat-em-up. It says you're the boss but it may as well be a good character and the enemies be bad, there's no difference.
Meh, maybe I'll buy it someday. : D Also, I got most of them for free (via codes or free for a day promotions) or 99c, so they didn't cost much. There are some of the free ones I haven't played yet, but I always play the ones I pay for.
Fair enough, with the rate SEGA games go on sale, Black Friday or Christmas seems like a safe bet if you want to be thrifty.
