Looking for a good 2D sidescrolling platformer. Have none at all, and know nothing about them, but do want one. Also CGS is the 100% worth it right?
Frogatto and Soosiz for sure! If there's only two you should grab, it's these two. They're both extremely polished and just great. Pizza Boy I don't actually own, but have only heard good things about, except that it's really short. (I buy way too much in the app store, so I'm waiting for this one to drop to $.99 from 1.99 based on length alone). Hoggy is a lot of fun, was just free and might still be. If it isn't, it's worth cash. I paid for it a few months ago. Ricky is a little ehh, but it's a decent mario clone. If you can find it on sale for $.99, then it's worth it. Have also heard great things about Giana Sisters but it's rather expensive for an app store game ($5).
I'm thinking about getting a turn based rpg, I was thinking either Crimson Gem Saga or Rimelands, what are your guys opinions on them? Thanks
I got both, while Rimeland is fun and worth exactly its asking price. CGS exceeds it, I bought it for full price at $10 and I don't regret paying one cent of that. The developers deserved it for the epic game that made onto the appstore.
Guess it depends on the style of games you like. Personally, I know that I wouldn't enjoy CGS at all, whereas I'm having a great time with Rimelands.
Oh, I see. I'm leaning more towards Rimelands just because I too don't like JRPG's much, I mean there are a few good ones I've played but I'm more into western rpgs.
I enjoy both quite a bit, but definitely grab Crimson Gem Saga while it's only $5. It's definitely one of the two best RPG's on the App Store, if not the best. That said, is it worth picking up Phantasy Star II for the price? I'm not a huge fan of the way the combat system works from what I've seen, but that's most likely since I've never actually played it. Also, any good bullet hell shooters? Icarus X looks pretty good, especially for $2, but Phoenix looks like it's going to be pretty good as well. Unfortunately I can't get either of Cave's shooters as I only have an iPod Touch 2G.
Yea know what you mean. You'll probably like Rimelands than, and the dice roll combat system really adds something new to gameplay. If you're still not sure then just scan through the thread and gather those impressions.
very hard choice but seriously believe me, CGS is the best rpg I've played on the idevice and I have them all and have probably spent more time on them than anyone.
I must say the same about Rimelands (and I do own CGS and like it very much), it is the most unique and awesome RPG (or game) in the store.
