Solipskier. Regarding Canabalt, in my opinion if I can play it for free on the computer, why would I want to pay $3 to play the same exact game on the device? If I could get an unique twist on the game in Monster Dash that costs $2 less, I'd rather get that instead. Though $3 isn't a lot, I'm not going to spend that money on something I can play for free while skipping out other $3 games like PvZ and Archetype.
Both are well made by the same trusted publisher. It simply comes down to whether you want a match-3 or a defense game.
So I have a 10 dollar gift card and I'm willing to blow it on some of the following games. I have most of the popular games already including most of the recent ones (Monster Rush, Solipskier, The Incident, Plunderland, Fastar, Grav Runner, So Long Oregon, Dark Nebula 1/2, Helsing's Fire, Chuck Gnone, etc) Across Age - 5.99 (I don't have an iPhone 4, but should I wait for the DX version so I don't have to rebuy it eventually?) Beneath a Steel Sky - 2.99 (Liked Phoenix Wright, maybe time to give another a try?) Bounce On 1 or 2 - 1.99/3.99 (Like platformers, heard good things about this) Crystal Defenders - 3.99 (On Sale now) Hector: Badge of Carnage - 3.99 (same as Beneath a Steel Sky, and cause it's raunchy) Inotia 2 - 4.99 (Hated the first, heard second was leagues better) Rolando 1 or 2 - 2.99/4.99 (Always heard great things, maybe time to give one of them a try?) Space Invaders Infinity Gene - 4.99 (Never was a big fan a shooters, but this has gotten nothing but praise) Watson: The Beginning - 2.99 (Loved reading the Sherlock Holmes novels and loved Phoenix Wright) Zenonia 2 - 4.99 (Played some of the first. Maybe just skip to the second? Anyways, I'm looking for a combo of the above games that would be the most worth my time totaling 10 bucks (more or less). Any other suggestions are welcome too if good enough
But Solipskier is a free flash game too... Which I just tried, by the way, and which is friggin' great.
should i get zenonia 2 ? is there a lot of grinding? is there a good/evil story ( i know that every character has a different story though) after you finished the campaign can you replay it with the same character (and all stats, items, etc) or should i get across agee or an other rpg
Like medianotzu said, Solipskier is also a free flash game. Plus, if you just want to play the free flash version, you're limited to playing it at home/on your laptop. But if you buy it, you can whip it out in the bus/metro or in class or basically anywhere.
Oh, that's a flash game as well? :\ Well anyways, to be honest I still wouldn't download a flash game port just to play it more conveniently since there are plenty of other great games unique to the iDevices.
To each his/her own. However, I just bought both and absolutely love both. Totally worth the $6 to me to be able to play these games on my commute and with a touch screen.
I am partial to An Assassin in Orlandes and Deathtrap Dungeon. But you can't go wrong with anything in either series. Just pick the one with the most compelling premise to you.
That's my saying! Gamebooks tend to be pretty long, and those are no exception. Assassin in Orlandes is pretty long, although Seige of the Necromancer is a bit longer (and better). Actually, forget if you can and wait for Slaves of Rema which is so far my favorite gamebook on the platform. Deathtrap Dungeon seems to be of good length as well, although despite making some good progress I had quite a bit left to go. Then again, Citadel of Chaos somewhat snuck onto the App Store, and that one has spells and is overall more in-depth than the others in the series (although I havn't played Creature of Havok yet, which did come out after both Deathtrap Dungeon and Citadel of Chaos, and is assumingly more in-depth). Which brings me to my questions: Creature of Havok vs. Sorcery! and RottenCity vs. The Crimsons
Really, you like Necromancer better than Assassin? I kind of preferred Assassin, myself. I have Sorcery! but not Creature, and I have RottenCity but not the Crimsons, so...But I would check out Sorcery if you have some of the other Fighting Fantasy books because the Sorcery! series is quite different. And I can't really recommend Rotten City...it's ok, but hasn't really gotten the bug fixes it should, and I found it pretty tedious after about an hour of playing, deleted it and doubt I will ever pick it up again.
Roughly 200 pages in paperback terms. But it will feel shorter if you only read through once. You will know it is long if you explore everything though. The Gamebook Adventures gamebooks are slightly longer than the Fighting Fantasy ones.
Thanks for the support guys for our Gamebook Adventures series. Just to add too that our gamebooks usually weigh in around 500+ sections in total (FF tend to be around 400 fyi). Also to let you know too that we're about to upgrade both Assassin and Necromancer in the coming weeks with some slight changes to the story based on player feedback as well iPhone 4 retina screen upgrades (which are looking amazing by the way). Also we have Gamebook Adventures 3: Slaves of Rema which will be released soon followed shortly after by a, as yet unannounced fourth GA book (all top secret at the mo). Oh and to finally add too that we're are currently making major changes for our iPad versions too. These will be universal so current iPhone owners will get a free upgrade!
