Debating between Chaos Rings, FFI, FFII, and Crimson Gem Saga. How is the character customization in each game?
I'm debating Chaos Rings and Crimson Gem Saga myself. Personally I haven't played the FF titles on the iPhone yet but I played them originally and I think II is better than I. I hope they release III. I really enjoyed playing that on DS.
In Chaos Rings, customisation is generally quite minimal, since your pairs usually consist of a fighter and a mage, both with set skills. You can buy equipment, but there's not much variety in it, they just boost defence and attack. FFI has quite a lot of customisation, seeing as you can choose a party of whatever class you like (out of 5 or 6 classes), so in theory, you can have a party of 4 white mages...though that's not recommended . FFII is a little different, with set characters, but the actual customisation is a bit strange...you just have to play it to understand it. Crimson Gem Saga has a deep character customisation system. You have set characters (6 in total, though you can only take 4 into battle), and each character has their own expansive skill tree into which you can invest skill points earned in battle. Aside from that, there's also a variety of equipment, each of which have their own elemental affinities (some monsters are most resistant or weaker to certain elements) and other effects outside of battle, so it's not just a case of 'this gives me more attack therefore it is better'. Overall, I'd say Chaos Rings has the least amount of character customisation, while FFI and Crimson Gem Saga have the most. Out of all of them, I'd say if you're into a deep core gameplay system, get Crimson Gem Saga, if you want a deep storyline, get Chaos Rings, and if you have any money left, get FFI, followed by FFII.
Thank you for answering. That was very helpful. I'll just go with Crimson Gem Saga and Chaos Rings for now, and I'll consider buying the two FF games at a later time.

I have Fastar and Stick Golf. Both are fairly enjoyable for $.99 but note that both have their difficulties.
I'm going on a trip tomorrow. Need to play a game while in car. Any recommendations. I only have 9 dollars left. Should be something that keeps you stick.
