Umm Hero of Sparta maybe? I don't think there are many 3D games like that. There are more along the lines of castle crashers (hacknslash, skills, powers, etc.).
If you love detective books, you would have loved PW. But since fantasy is more of your thing, check out Wizards First Rule by Terry Goodkind.
Torn between two games: Lets Golf 2 and Plunderland. Both are really good games I know from reviews etc but Lets Golf 2 seems to have a bit more lasting appeal than plunderland (i know there are promised updates but I dont like to buy based on promises). Which is better ? Thanks !
I'm looking for a really really good platformer, with uber polished graphics. Can anyone help me out?
The only other thing I can think of is Catacombs, but that's more like the original Gauntlet, and from what I hear it's not all that great.
- Frogatto is really good and fun, if you don't mind the retro-ish graphics. - Castle of Magic has pretty good graphics but it's not the best in terms of entertainment. - Earthworm Jim is a really fun ported game also. - Super Quickhook is incredibly fun with fantastic graphics. - Grokion is a good 2D adventure platformer with really good graphics. ... That's all I can think of off the top of my head .
Assassin's Creed II looks great and is a ton of fun, but if you don't have a 3rd Gen or later device, it's going to lag a lot. It lagged quite a bit at a few sections on my 2G. Prince of Persia looks insane on any device, but again, lags on older devices. It definitely looks nicer and lags less than ACII, but I don't know if this is what you mean by platformer.
So... I just got myself an iPad and I'm wondering: what are the top 5 games that the TA members would suggest? Any genre except FPS. I was thinking: Battle for Wesnoth HD The Secret of Monkey Island 2 HD Jim and Frank Mysteries HD and some others This is my first post! (I sorta lurked a while before joining)
Should i get Plunderland or Helsing's Fire? Plunderland has great art and the gameplay looks fun, and the same goes for Helsing's Fire. Now the question is, which has more replayability? Also, will any of these recieve updates?
So, is there ANYTHING amounting to an Outrun style game? Just grabbed Truckers Delight so I'll see how that goes but anything else people suggest? Any adventure game gems aside from Hector?
Both are really good. Plunderland has more replayability since you fan find secrets. Helsings fire is a puzzle game, with puzzles that don't change when you go through the game a second time, so replayability is very low. HF is 99 cents Plunderland is 2.99. Plunderland will get updates, the dev is active on the forums. Dunno bout Helsings fire.
Played them both. They feel like brother and sister. I'd be perfectly happy with Rolando, but out of principle, I no longer support ngmoco. I was looking for something less cartoony though, to the likes of Dark Nebula. Frogatto - Do mind graphics. Castle of Magic - Tis good, but I want something more polished. Earthworm Jim - Graphics... Quickhook - If I wanted a game as such, I'd just get Hook Champ. Grokion - That looks pretty good. I stay away from mainstream games on the iPhone. Those I reserve for the PS3. I kinda gave up on Platformers since Rolando 2. Nothing has been as polished as that game, so I'll just wait for now. Same with Tower Defense games. Don't get me wrong, some are awesomely fun, but they aren't fun to use, for me. I'm hoping they one day DLC Hardgore into Minigore, because their concept of a shooter/tower defense will be mind blowing.
salacion, if you get over graphics you'll really start to enjoy platformers. Hook champ, frogatto, etc. all amazing.
No its not once you get the suit and you can play on casual mode intead of hardcore so give it another try! Edit: Check out my comment on the Grokion thread
