Wrong. I could easily enjoy a purely text-based game if its well made just as much as a game that uses the newest 3d engine. I only have problems with games that could be good as an only text-based game, but the developers added terrible graphics. PW is one of these.
But that's basically an admittance that you won't buy a game purely because of the graphics, meaning that for you, graphics is everything. Or at least, a disproportionately important factor.
Well, I'm sure you have Battle of Wesnoth by now. If GTA costs $10, Wesnoth should cost at least double. The quality and quantity of the game is ridiculous. Another obvious one at $5 is Space Miner, though you probably have that, too. For puzzles, Fling! is pretty unknown but is really fun. Sigma is also a pretty good game, but unfortunately it was one of those apps that was a huge hit upon release, and quickly lost attention. I'll get back to you later, I'm a bit busy right now. Look! His IQ is already plummeting after playing PW! No, The Resistance does not like PW reasons not just graphics.
Everything? As I said, not even nearly, example for this is Gameloft. Their games look good, but most of them is boring as hell. It surely is a factor, as it is a part of the game, but only one of many in normal cases. But if the graphics aren't important for the gameplay and are terribly done, it might just be annoying.
hi i have 5 bucks left and i was wondering if you guys can recommend me some games i like rpgs and games with multiplayer
There were other reasons too - I never said there weren't, the graphics was just the one that was really annoying, but everyone else seemed to love it. EDIT: McFlyHigh: Battle for Wesnoth is a TBS with strong RPG elements and cross-platform multiplayer.
Oh, well that explains it all then. It's just that every post I've seen by you on the subject has included 'because the graphics are terrible'.
You can take this game for a purely text-based game. There's no need to actually have to stare at the graphics as you play the game. You can see them to get an idea of their personality a bit, and see how their emotions change through their looks, but other than that, it's not a big deal. I don't see how it's much different gameplay-wise from any other text-based adventure.
You haven't bought Hook Champ either. It's obvious you have no taste Balu, I'm pretty sure somewhere in the thread you said you wouldn't get PW because of the graphics.
Hahaha! How do you know I haven't bought HC? I haven't though, so you're right. TBH, I'm no good at games like PW, so I tend not to bother. I'm pretty sure other than that, we'd have very similar taste in games. *Puts up his dukes*
If you read back a page or so here, you will see that graphics was one of the reasons, I only said that, because people seem to like it, even though the graphs of PW are simply... disgusting.
Phoenix Wright isn't one of those games you have to be good at. If you really need help, there's plenty of guides online to help. Even then, though, you shouldn't have too much trouble. It makes you think, but in the end, everything makes sense. There's no ridiculous sections where you basically have to guess, unless you don't follow what happens and get confused. Give it a shot while it's on sale.
I had trouble deciphering that post with all the commas. I still don't understand why anyone would notice the graphics in a text game and use it as a reason not to get it. It's like not reading a book because of it's cover.
