I agree. My guess is that the top-down perspective may make it feel a bit less immersive than something like Glyder. You also have to constantly deal with traffic, pedestrians, etc -- not quite as relaxing in my book.
I want a game where I can just walk around (Reposted for correct forum's sake) Ever since I played Shadow of the Colossus way back when it came out, I've found I really like exploring in a game. Because of this little habit, I love games that have no pressure to move to the next objectives and you aren't constantly in combat. So, after searching the store as best I could, I come here to make a request: I want a game with an open, 3D environment with no time limit and where combat only comes when I want it to. A nice, relaxing game where I can just wander around and explore. Thanks!
I orginally suggested: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/kometen/id371244586?mt=8 and http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/1000-find-em-all/id345400037?mt=8 (on sale!) before I realized you mentioned combat. These are good for just exploring an nice 3D enviornment with no pressure, no combat... but still some accomplishments.
Maybe I should have reworded that better, because combat is really optional. That Find 'Em All game would be awesome if I had a phone instead of just an iPod, and I love Kometon.
Find 'em all does NOT require a phone. I also only have an iPod and I personally think the built in 3D world is much better than the GPS idea. If you like Kometon go for it, trust me (I have them both and also really enjoy the 'free walk around' genre). And its on sale for 99 cents
Reposted from the original thread: If you can tolerate 2D, 1000 Gifts: Find Them All is on sale for a buck this weekend! If you would rather fly than walk, Glyder 1 and 2 would be excellent choices! (Also on sale) The Quest has a lot of combat, but is a HUGE 3D world, and is turn-based: no need to rush. (Lots of things to discover if you are an exploration fan!)
And a load of lite versions too! Wonder if Glu had something in their games that didn't work with OS4 or something like that.
Confirmed: Glyder 2 crashes with iOS4.0. The same would be true of the others. Guess we'll have to play the waiting game instead
I just fired up Alley Gator and How to Train Your Dragon. The first runs fine while the latter is unplayable.
What game to get............. Hey guys, been a while, but really looking for a good game to get for my iphone. It's now running the iOS4 so I assume I can play the optimized games as well. My most favorite game ever is Angry Birds. completed all levels, 3star and have all eggs completed and now waiting for the next update. I just downloaded LUX Touch and beat that in the first game, so not sure how much more fun I'll get out of it. I've also completed Let's Golf on all levels and players. Doodle jump I've got, but not really a fan and Krazy Kart I've completed as well. Sooooooooo, what would you suggest. I love the Lemmings style games, Angry Birds, etc....something that's a little challenging with lots and lots of levels to complete, but involves a little intelligence. Free is a bonus, but they have to be spectacular and well produced to get me to pay. I've also got Gangster, which is ok, but never been a GTA fan apart from the very first one Core racing games are a no as well. Cheers All
I know of an amazing 3D environment with no time limits, where you only engage in combat when you choose to.. It's called real life. Sarcasm aside, I don't think a game with such scope exists on the iDevices.
