I want a game where I can just walk around Ever since I played Shadow of the Colossus way back when it came out, I've found I really like exploring in a game. Because of this little habit, I love games that have no pressure to move to the next objectives and you aren't constantly in combat. So, after searching the store as best I could, I come here to make a request: I want a game with an open, 3D environment with no time limit and where combat only comes when I want it to. A nice, relaxing game where I can just wander around and explore. Thanks!
Well, I myself enjoy 100 rogues a lot, but the gameplay is really different from SoF, so much I wouldn't even dare to compare them (don't want to invoke the roguelike fanboys around here >.>). The fact that there's no sale coming soon, lots of promised updates (that ARE being fulfilled, differently from other games/devs) and the fact that the game itself is pretty cool (2 chars and 2 to come, all of them play differently and require different strategies) and addictive makes it worth the purchase. It no longer crashes, so that's a huge plus (lol), but I say if you're not in an urge to play it, you can wait a bit more for it to get more updates and more content . But your question was if it was worth it so I'm deviating, for me that's a big yes, it'll be even more with upcoming updates, but it is a good game, you could check them main topic for additional info.
Wrong section of the forum. This belongs in general game discussions section. (but you're new to the forum so.... Welcome )
Yes. This game will last you a looooong time - Kyle keeps adding campaigns to it. SoF is a great 'intro' roguelike. A major difference IMHO between it and 100 Rogues is that SoF has more of the exploring element to it and 100 Rogues is more focused on tactical combat. If the exploring aspect appeals to you more, you might like Cavern or Rogue Touch better than 100 Rogues.
Solomon's Keep Card Shark Collection Deluxe Puzzle Maniak Sigma All-in-one Gamebox Pixn' Love Rush Run! Sword of Fargoal Castle Conflict Rotten City Alive 4-ever Mikado Defenders Battle Bears Battle for Wesnoth Warlords: Call to Arms GTA: Chinatown Wars Call of Duty Zombies Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 Bruce Lee Dragon Warrior Oregon Trail Tradewinds 2 Need For Speed (Shift and Undercover) GT Racing Raging Thunder 2 Inotia 2 Caligo Chaser Space Miner NBA Live Madden NFL I think that covers enough genres. Anyways, they are all good and will keep a spot on my iPod. Bolded are must haves in my opinion.
I am totally agree for Kometen (don't know the other game). Kometen is really a lone great experiment !
You forgot Broken Sword and Land Air Sea Warfare. Honestly, I think there should be a huge compiled list of great games.
If the term "walking" is more figurative than literal, I think the perfect game for you is Glyder 2 (Glyder 1 is fine, too, but the sequel is a big improvement).
GTA Chinatown Wars doesn't really force you into objectives. You may get into the occasional fight or police chase but there's still a lot of freedom to do your own thing in between missions.
If you can tolerate 2D, 1000 Gifts: Find Them All is on sale for a buck this weekend! If you would rather fly than walk, Glyder 1 and 2 would be excellent choices! (Also on sale) The Quest has a lot of combat, but is a HUGE 3D world, and is turn-based: no need to rush.
Oh, my mistake, I misread the sub headings. I'll go ahead and repost it in the correct place. Thanks for the suggestions though all, I have Kometen and I love it, and Glyder seems perfect.
