Well for starters, here's a good few posts outlining the controls in depth, created for people who were asking about how to use the controls. There's also a tutorial feature in the game itself. It seems complicated, but it took me less than an hour until I could use them expertly, it becomes pretty intuitive. http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=38431
if youve ever played warfare inc or really just about every other rts on the idevice, the controls for LASW will feel right at home for you. However, in red quest, the controls honestly offer the greatest part of the depth for the game. Theres a great number of formations and other ways to move your troops and this, most times, determines the outcomes of your battle. In other words, red conquest has controls that allows units to micromanaged to their fullest, a feat no other rts has quite done, not even LASW.
Red Conquests are not as straight forward and can be somewhat confusing, and once you get used to the basics you will still have trouble learning the more advandced ones (I am and I've had this for months) LASW's just feel natural.. and I can only say that.. they just feel.. right..
