if you want a rpg, 100 rogues isn't the way to go. And yes, before you buy and more games, get LASW. When you do need a rpg though, get chaos rings or Across Age.
Well done. Btw, I'm not really an RTS person at all. I actually can't get the hang of most of them, and I've played quite a few. The only iPhone ones I could get into were Armada and Rise of Lost Empires (only played the demo) because it wasn't overwhelming, and everything was nice and easy to understand. I also have Red Conquest!, but I can't tell what's going on or what I'm doing, so I gave up. That said, do you think I'd like LASW? It sounds great, but I'd really like to make sure it's up my alley before dropping $5 for it. I only went for RC! because it was on sale for $2, and I had plenty of money to spend. I'm pretty strapped for cash right now, but everyone seems to love the game, so I just need to hear some more opinions first.
well thats the thing... i dont want to really get an rpg on my iphone cuz its not really my main gaming device...so thats why i like the idea of the short play sessions with 100 rogues. i guess my main concern about LASW is that the small screen just isnt made for RTS games to be on, but im gonna bite the bullet and get it and see how it goes...
I've played 100 Rogues, and it's alright. It's not terrible, but I find Fargoal to be WAY more interesting. If you're getting a roguelike, make it Fargoal. As for a good way to spend $5, go for Necromancer Rising. I've been promoting it a bit on here lately, but I just remembered how much I enjoyed that game. Plus, it's great for short and long gaming sessions, due to the game's structure. Check out the lite version first if need be.
LASW certainly is not simple. However, I'm sure you will love it. There are tons of units and terrains, which may seem overwhelming at first, but really allows you to get the most of your 5 bucks. The controls are a piece of cake, but they make so much sense. In RC, there are so many unnecessary complications, and Armada almost felt too simplified for me. LASW is a perfect blend, with controls that get the job done while being easy to master. Add to this the fact that you are a) supporting an indie dev who spent his last 2 years on this game, and b) the indie dev(Rasterman if you weren't aware) has promised tons of updates. He seems really dedicated and this becomes a must buy game for any person who considers themselves an app store aficionado. I'd go as far to call LASW the best RTS in mobile gaming history, as nothing on the PSP or DS can touch this. It doesn't matter whether you are a fan of RTS or not, or whether you have money or not: Land Air Sea Warfare is simply a must buy game
My big thing is how easy is it for me to get the hang of. The thing that I liked about Armada and Rise of Lost Empires is the fact that I could learn the controls quickly and easily, whether through an in-game tutorial or just extremely self explanitory and easy to learn controls (I picked up Armada's controls in minutes w/o a tutorial). If you can easily pick up the game, no matter how crappy you are at RTS's, I'm all in. That was a really convincing post, and if I can easily understand the game despite how terrible I am at RTS's (I usually end up killing my own dudes by mistake in Starcraft), I'll be buying it as soon as I pick up a gift card.
I'm looking to pick up a sailing game, the choices are either Sailboat Championship Pro or Caribbean Racing. I haven't been able to find any comparison review of the two games though and was wondering which one is better. Has either author mentioned major updates coming? I could easily be swayed to whichever app is planning to allow us to construct custom maps/courses to race on. Thanks!
Ya the controls are a breeze. You'll be commanding units in no time. Just be ready for a lot of depth, which seems overwhelming to the most ardent RTS fan. Armada has 4 units-this game has (literally) hundreds of types of units and buildings. In that sense, it will take a bit of time to get used to; but the controls, UI, and presentation are simple, effective, and quite frankly, flawless. There is an in game tutorial; however, I skipped it, and I was breezing through in no time. Don't let the depth deter you; this is one of the greatest games on the app store, and it is worth every cent of the 500 u will pay
The controls are indeed good but I'm not sure about the complexity of the game. Compared to armada..ehh, yeah there's a huge gap. It's almost like red conquest due to it's diversity, yet it's pretty easy to catch on. I'd say the controls are most similar to warfare inc, if that helps any.
Fruit ninja, tilt to live That's all I can think off the top of my head Eliss, probably most rhythm based games like DDR S or Rock Band
