For a buck you can't really go wrong with it, unless you really hate linear games that much.

Dungeon Hunter is not that bad, but the storyline is pretty childish. It´s just as bad and stupid as the storyline in N.O.V.A. I have no intention to finish both of these games.

It is very good for asynchronous multiplayer. The single-player campaign is so-so and mostly there for you to learn the ropes.

Did you reach Gothica? There's some pretty cool gear to find in those towers.

Mm true I forgot about the multiplayer, I never gave it much of a whirl, played the single player for a bit but then it got buried under all the other games lol.

Well Canabalt is definitely worth it if you LIKE the genre. It does what it is very well.

I actually like Words With Friends. It may not be a game like everyone else is suggesting, but it's a ton of fun and has a fully featured free version, just with ads.

this may be a bit off the topic of the genre of games being discussed, but what is gangstar like, does it have a big open environment?

+2 GTA is the way to go.

@Blake, I liked Doodle Bomb a lot - as for Canabalt - play the online demo for a while and see if you get hooked! ;)

Yep gta is better. After going back and playing gangstar it was just boring.

I havn't played Gangstar since getting GTA, but I'm sure I'd be bored. In comparison, there's just nothing to do. The missions I played were all pretty average, the weapon variety was pretty lame as well as vehicle variety, although I enjoyed hitting people with a sandwich car. The only thing going for it is that it's in 3d, but that doesn't save it for long. But the biggest thing is that the city feels bland compared to Liberty City. In GTA, something's always happening. I've seen car accidents, cops chasing speeding vehicles, people getting into fights, dealers fighting off cops... and it just feels like something's actually happening. Plus people will sometimes fight back or lock their cars to prevent carjacking. In Gangstar, the people just walk on the sidewalk and don't usually do anything when you start attacking them or jack their car.

And then there's the police system... In Gangstar, it's BORING. All it does is increase the amount of time you have to evade the cops. There's no increase of cops or different types of law enforcement. In GTA they bring in cops, SWAT, copters, and even tanks when you hit 6 stars (which I still have yet to survive to see).

And there's more but I don't feel like going into it. But that said, GTA is WAY better.
