If I had to put them in order from my favorite: Bug Princess Espgaluda II Dodonpachi **Bug Princess might beat out EII because it's new and fresh on the brain, so consider them interchangeable.
How often do they go on sale? Which has the most replay value between Dodon and ESPG? I don't like the look of Bug Princess.
If I'm right, CAVE games rarely go on sale after their launch/launch sale. They do on occasion though. But if it doesn't go on sale by Christmas/the lockdown, it's not gonna go on sale for a long time, so I suggest waiting til Christmas and if it doesn't go on sale buy it. (also I'm not much of a shmup fan/ bullet hell, so i don't own Dodon/ESPG so can't answer the second q) Also: Sonic CD if I'm not a retro person?
I want to get Trenches 2 ($2.99) for the iPad, but I EA's history of price drops just screams at waiting a week or two = a price drop. Should I wait?
Highly doubt it...at least 3-4 months. Its doing fine (top 5 grossing apps right now), no reason for a price drop.
Hmm...I put in about the same amount of time for both of them because I tend to wear Shmup games out pretty fast. Get Dodon if you want super duper intense and get EII if you just want smooth awesomeness (obviously it's still a crazy bullet hell madness). The replay value is to get better for the most part IMO I personally prefer EII over Dodon nowadays. I used to be super conflicted, but I'm not anymore. Something in me still has to recommend Bug Princess lol. As far as EII, I don't see it going past $8 for a while. Same with Dodonpachi!They were originally more, but you can hope for a Xmas sale. For IB2, not likely!
The scenery, the scoring system, and the bullet patterns. I'd suggest trying out both of the lite versions to get a feel even though they're somewhat short. Really when it comes to these 2, it's personal preference.
