I agree, full on. I don't game on a PC or Mac, as I've grown up entrenched by the NES culture of my childhood... But this year is just ripe with titles, on all platforms. The most AAA title growth I've seen on a console library in years. From Crysis 2, Portal 2, Gears of War 3, Battlefield 3, Shadows of the Damned, Skyrim, RAGE, Zelda: Skyward Sword, Batman Arkham City, Jurassic Park, Mortal Kombat, Kirby Return to Dreamland, Sonic Generations, Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, Goldeneye HD, Forza 4, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, Nano Assault, Dark Souls... Then early next year: Resident Evil Revelations, Mass Effect 3, Paper Mario 3D, Monster Hunter Tri G 3D, Beyond Labyrinth, Tales of Abyss 3D, Bravely Default, Diablo 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Dragon Dogma, etc... I can no longer justify my $ collecting dust on casual fare. Never again. As cheap as they are, I can't become excited to play those physics or geometry wars overplayed tropes on my iPad any longer. It's gotta be like Shadowgun or none. Production values, polish and high profile. (Modern Combat 3, Afterlife, Shadowgun, Desert Zombie, Epoch, Warm Gun, Paper Monsters, Forgotten Memories, Topia, Shadow Sun, Dark Meadow and Battle Eternal are all descriptive of where iOS SHOULD be) I'm not expecting Activision and Capcom to give their best for 10$, but if Madfinger a small team can deliver on their promise: I'd like others in their mold to do the same. We're on the same page friend.

It's already GOTW on iTunes. Tonight's releases don't even get the chance to compete xP. Anyways, this week really wasn't that amazing for releases. Shadowgun is the shit, but otherwise, I'm just grabbing Commander Pixman and Jelly Defense. Honestly, I think next week is going to be a superior week with Dark Meadow, Mage Gauntlet, Super Crate Box, and Warm Gun coming out sometime between now and then. Maybe there's still hope Warm Gun is coming tonight?! Edit: Got Robotriot as well. Trying out Katamari too. Doubt I'll be buying the full game though.
I don't think that'd be a wise decision on their part. If they release Warm Gun this week, then Warm Gun doesn't have a chance to be a candidate for GOTW. If they release it next week, then it could be GOTW.
Damn, Trine is indeed a very good game. The visuals and soundtrack are very pleasing, but it's the level designs that win it for the game. Awesome platformer and game for the $5 I paid.
