http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/owainsarmy If that doesn't give you goosebumps, then I just don't know what to say.
Just downloaded Allied Star Police, and truly it is actually a really fun game. Its like a tower defense game but sped up a lot so a lot more action faster.
Hey guys? Can we shelve the side topic? Feel free to continue in the game's thread and/or create a thread in the lounge or the "must have freebies" section. This is not the place for it. You can promote the game further by rating it on Touch Arcade and App Shopper. I'll end the discussion with the fact that I downloaded the game as soon as I saw that it was free and from 8th and Battery.
I'm sure it's been mentioned, but what is the consensus on DTN? I went to buy it but some pretty bad reviews convinced me to wait a bit longer and get some opinions.
Getting gifted an app from .99 to 2.99... What do you recommend? Preferably something new... I've got Reckless getaway, dream track nation, and blobster. Is something great coming out next week, or should I use it now? Thanks, and sorry for not putting what genre, I just don't know...
Here's a few worthy mentions: Alien Space Retro The Blocks Cometh(VERY Addictive) Miss Claire Garden (one of the BEST platformers on iOS)
I like it quite a bit! It's Jelly Car - jelly + stars + speed. If you like this sort of game, you will enjoy it. It can be a little uneven at times, but the levels are short so it doesn't really matter. Multiplayer is cool, reminds me a little bit of Jelly Car 2 on the Wii (and really making me wish for MotoHeroz to come out!) The download system is OK, but not as good as others such as Chalkboard Stunts. (Which has a good rating system and makes you test/complete a level before you can upload it...)
I can vouch for The Blocks Cometh! I hate endless runners and was taking a leap of faith on this one but I can honestly say it is one of my favorite games right now. The controls are tight and it gives you that "just one more time" feeling. Definitely addictive and highly recommended.
I don't have an ipad, but I'm thinking of getting pocket rpg... Is the price going to go up after it gets the universal update? and also, is the universal update the one they're working on now, or is it behind in the list of priorities... Been thinking of Geosociety... How is it? EDIT: Just tried the blocks cometh flash game. The gameplay is a little too much like the incident. I loved the incident, but after beating it twice, (mac and ipod) I'm just tired of it. What does it have that separates it from the incident?
While most people are praising it pretty highly I have trouble with the fact that I cannot save in the middle of a mission... you have to return to the city to and start over... If I am wrong about this I would love someone to tell me what I am doing wrong but this has pretty much ruined my enjoyment of the game.
I wasn't aware that the game would be going universal. I liked the look of it but never really looked at it in any detail since I realized it was iPad only. Will have to take another look.
Thanks for the suggestions... Ended up going with geosociety, just on a whim... Hopefully it'll be good.
Stickman BMX is at number 2, and Zombie Gunship is at number 4. Blobster is still in the top 10 as well. Apple's new formula for calculating chart positions is definitely pretty interesting. Got Deadlock, Zombie Gunship, Stickman BMX, and Dream Track Nation so far this week. Does anyone have any other recommendations from the new releases?
I think the chart system works by day. The most amount of sales that games gets in a day is in the Top Grossing for example.
