1. Besides the new graphics which are really nice, the game has basically the same game campaign and survival. But, this game "feels" different than the first Alien Space. Hard to pinpoint exactly how... camera is different which is significant, weapons feel different, maybe AI a little different too?? Original does not have IAP. This new one has a new game mode and new weapons you can buy with IAP. Also, it's half the price of Alien Space, which makes it a steal IMO. 2. Dont know about GW on DS. GW on iPhone sucks and this is much better. Explosions, they're about the same I think. This has very GW-style explosions. 3. Dont know, but maybe this and GW has the biggest explosions... could be wrong though.
I like when people bump something once... not more than that. I often miss a post as it gets buried and have seen many answered properly after a bump. Anyways, it isn't like it takes up much space or is off topic or anything. Bump away buddy! (but just the one time )
The reason I love this week's releases is nostot thanks to Dream Track Nation And Deadlock! File size matters to me more than price. U know, 8gb.
If you like the original and like retro (or GW style) graphics, I think yes. At 99cents it's a good deal. I also like the new game mode Lost in Space that's a 99c IAP. Also the game does have a slightly different feel from Alien Space. The ship moves differently, it's top-down view, adn I think I noticed you take more damage from hittign asteroids, which I like since it's more challenging. I also read there's a new update coming with a "hard" difficulty level.

Yes, $0.99 is the permanent price. It's also true that I'm working on a new update with a new harder difficulty level, and new leaderboards for that difficulty level for campaign and survival.
Coool! As you know I LOVED the original Alien Space. Well, whenever I feel the urge to randomly buy a .99 cent app (probably sometime this week ) it'll be Alien Space Retro!

Im having a blast with Knighturn and Sword&Earrings. These are great turn based strategy rpgs. Highly recommend these games, although some may need to get past the primitive graphics first. I think they're great.
Are there any other underrated turn based strategy games that have great gameplay but went under the radar? I have battle of wesnoth, but I dont think my iphone is the best platform for that game - mapas are too huge with no zoom feature.
