Wow this must be doing really badly for them to have lowered it that fast. Wonder if they will go down to .99 What i don't get is this... How can you take a hugely successful game with a guaranteed fanbase along with a massive publisher who has already pushed out some great games on the iphone and then produce something which not even devoted mass effect fans want to touch. Epic epic failing.
I'm guessing you mean it's not surprising. Anything with Mass Effect as it's title is gonna sell like hotcakes. For some reason, people expect the console experience on their phones. The copies are flying off their virtual shelves.
Never played the real game, and the video is not that impressive, but somehow i don't seem like i can hold off from buying this... Should i sleep on it, forget about it, or spend my money on My Brute? (or is that another waste?) Does anyone have anything good to say about it?
I don't think that's happening for a while. They're gonna milk this cow for all it's got, and then some. After that they'll probably drop it down to $2.99 and then, after a year since its release, they'll lower it down to $0.99 to get new-comers to the platform to blow their money on a game they know nothing about but looks good, and like I said earlier, has Mass Effect in it's title.
That about sums it up...it's an autofire game. The fact is that outside of TA and other gaming sites, most people don't know anything about gaming. The Mass Effect name will sell itself for a while.
Price drop 2.99 Might pick it up since I loved mass effect... maybe Ill let my kids play and me just watching the cut scenes since I heard its so dumb.
I think I might have to get it after this amazing review http://www.slidetoplay.com/story/mass-effect-galaxy-review I think the only reason its on the charts right now are because people don't know what to expect...they are oblivious of the horrid fighting and the 90 minute story. I don't even know why they released this game. The reviews are pretty funny too, with the typical FIVE STARS CAUSE ITS MASS EFFECT.
I've skimming the gaming reviews, and it's been a while since I've seen something so universally panned. Of course, the 5 star user reviews only highlight the issue with iTunes review system.
Ok bought it and played it... First, it's really not as bad as some of the reviews made it out to be... Seriously now it's really not a top notch game but definitely not the worst. Sure you can find 50 games that are cheaper and better than this but there are thousands of worse ways to spend 3 bucks in the app store. That said, ok it auto targets and I played through the first 2 planets without changing my default weapon... That kinda suck yes, but it was quite fun for me. Graphic quality is top notch, story is decent despite the mundane conversational interludes. That said, I certainly think the production quality alone is worth 3 bucks and if it ever drops to 99c do give it a try. Honestly it doesn't deserve some of the scathing reviews.
This game is absolutely horrible and no one should buy it. It chugs when it's 2d with 4 enemies on screen. The game plays itself and if you try to have more control and hit a power button like shooting a missile, the game slowsdown to whats very close to 0 frames per second for a few seconds. It's garbage. Don't give them your money. It really is as bad as everyone says.
Does the game slow down to simulate the slow motion bit in the real game when you enter the skills / squad screen? Or is this clearly frame drop?
