I'm guessing you didn't read what I said. SSX3 looks just like this at the top of the mountain. Dark, stormy weather, no pretty fairy light-studded ramps, nothing but ice and spikes... yet the game was amazing. Further down the mountain things softened up, we had the ramps back, sunsets, soft powdery snow... One trailer for the new SSX means nothing. Do you think they'd go with one single theme throughout the entire game? Surely not, they'd go for a bit of variety just as they always have. Dark, yes, but no darker than we've seen before, in the best SSX game ever to hit consoles nonetheless. Believe it or not, Tricky was not the defining experience.
Mass Effect 3 will be the best game that ever came out, visually the only other game that can look close to the same as it is uncharted but Mass effect 3 is the best & its gonna have multiplayer which i'm not sure about but its gonna be better than Rage, Gears of War 3, Portal 2, Or Uncharted 3.
More like Uncharted 3, the (most likely) conclusion to the greatest modern franchise. Anyway, 2011 will be a memorable year. Uncharted 3, Mass Effect 3, Resistance 3, Killzone 3, Elder Scrolls 5, Forza 4, inFamous 2, Rage, Portal 2, Brink, LittleBigPlanet 2, Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One, Arkham City, Gears 3, DC Universe Online, Bulletstorm, and more to come!
I'm not particularly looking forward to anything just yet. Uncharted 3 will obviously be amazing, it just takes more than an announcement for me to start giving a crap. LBP2, Forza 4, and Gears 3 will all be good, but I'm just bored of their preceeding games and they probably won't break away from the mold they've created. Killzone 3 has potential but it's gonna need to do some serious convincing after the way KZ2 flopped.
Gears of War 3: You kill someone by ripping their arm off and then beating them with it. Who hasn't wanted to do that???
LittleBigPlanet 2 has definitely added a whole lot more mechanics than the first game. Hope the floaty physics based platforming has improved. All this doesn't include updates to existing games like Mass Effect 2, Super Street Fighter 4 and Starcraft 2, as well as arcade games from this year coming to consoles/ online in 2011, like King of Fighters 13. I hope they plan to spread out this shit throughout the year instead of piling releases for March and Xmas, otherwise some games will have to be delaying into 2012. Tomorrow I'll update the OP with a list of all the games scheduled for next year (or steal one from Neogaf).
Sheesh, watched the Resistance 3 trailer again. Haven't gotten into that franchise but tempted to get R3. Just look at the chimeras jump at the ship and get shot off in mid-air, and blood get splattered all over. Epic. That game's gotta have great AI. Just kinda wish Insomniac would get more Ratchet and Clank games out (and don't tell me about the co-op one).
