Thanks guys! I got the Phil Coulson guy, his special is a random heroes skill instead so that's pretty cool! Really digging the game. What's the easiest way to earn the orbs? Playing the campaign?
it maybe the lack of players after all the game is only soft launched in CA and looking at the back end of the game i think it looks for people in your neck of the woods so to speak.
I thought the title was wrong, I'm in US and have it and hasn't it been out in Japan for a few months now?
Yeah, the title is wrong. I think it's out in North America and Japan. I also have not been able to figure out the team up battles. But, I can beat the bosses through hard at least on my own. Not sure about the expert one, as I haven't tried yet! Edit: Definitely cannot beat Expert
Right i figure it out why no one has managed to do online battles, cause it will only match you up with YOUR friends that are playing at the time you are playing.

I've gotten this working by coordinating with a friend. One person hosts the battle by selecting the battle/level then selecting recruit at the search for partner slot. The other person selects the "banner" at the top of the battle listings. I'm also looking for a few more friends, my ID is 164831963
"You can play Co-Op by tapping the Battle button on the bottom of the in-game screen. Remember to turn on the location services of your device, as the game will use that to find available sessions. Playing as a Host Select the Battle and the difficulty you'd like to play. Then tap the recruit button to start looking for another player. Wait until someone joins your session. Playing as a Guest Tap the Join Battles! button and find a session. You'll get two lists. One consists of nearby players, while the other will consist of Friends. Join a session from the list." That's from the FAQ page, I can't find anyone to help with the expert battles, either. I was able to find one person yesterday but the "session was disconnected by host" before we started the battle.

Stuck on level 4-11, use skill 4 times. I wouldn't have thought this game could be rigged but I've tried it 15 TIMES, whatever guy I'm using literally appears less and less towards the last 20 seconds making it impossible. I actually only had 3 of them at all far corners of the board. Might come back after a break, I'm so chapped!
Have you paid the coins to unlock the second skill for your main character? That makes it easier, since both skills fill at the same time.
