True, not to mention stressful. The x-force wolverine at 2000 points is quite tempting, but if the typical payout per fight is 25 points, it'll be a long, long time before I get there hahaha. Not really worth the trouble, I think.
I used hero points that I got through the campaign to buy the 150 point random character and got the x-force wolverine. At first, he was amazing but now that my ironman is leveled up a bit his red ability is cheaper and does more damage. Wolverine would be amazing in the long run, but he's very, very diffiuclt to level up without spending real money. My hawkeye has an ability that is almost maxed out. Once it is, I will start selling those color covers for the currency needed to upgrade wolverine. My review of this game is that if you enjoy the puzzles themselves, the characters will come in time. If you start playing this game today and expect to have a level 50 x-force wolverine by tomorrow, you're going to be very disappointed. But, if you actually enjoy the puzzles it is a great pick-up-and-play and your crew will always be expanding and improving even if it is just a little bit at a time.
I know this game is loaded with IAPs, but i have to admit this is really fun game. Been playing it all weekend.
Definitely enjoying the heck out of this game. Please don't let the initial IAP witch-hunters deter you, there is an enormous amount of gameplay here without any grinding necessary. They are also about to release a patch that makes things even smoother without IAP's.
Has anyone found a way to pick your party "leader"? During the one-star tournament, Ironman was the guy whose icon was on most of the tiles. This made sense because he is my highest level character with a lot of HP and I want him taking most of the hits. Now that we're in to the Avengers tournament, Hawkeyes icon is on every single color except for blue. Hawkeye isn't a High HP character so he is getting owned and it is reducing the overall effectiveness of my party significantly. I've tried reforming the party in a different order, that didn't seem to make any difference. Any ideas?
After noticing that the developers posted here once and then seemed to disappear, I just checked out the Demiurge Studios forum... A bunch of people complaining about balancing and the (apparently) nuclear nerf "update," with zero posts from Demiurge themselves. Just starting to get this game rolling, but kind of wondering if it's worth investing the time... if the first update did what people are saying (complaining) it did, not feeling hopeful about future "improvements..." Oh, and Misguided needs to do a player's guide for noobs. DBC
Its based on the damage they do matching the tiles, so if you match blue tiles and ur hawkeye has the blue tiles as the most damage, he'll pop in to do his damage. i can see why its semi disastrous with ur hawkeye doing so much damage. d3pforums have someone who posted patch notes for the release patch and he keeps us updated with random information and thinking process of the development team
Are you with the development team (sorry, one post, just joined TA)? Just checked out the d3p forums... if those changes materialize, I would suspect it will make some players very happy... DBC
http://www.d3pforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=72 Here's the notes on an upcoming big patch. I've been on the fence with this game with the way IAP is forced for upgrading rare heroes and expanding your collection but I keep coming back because the gameplay is pretty darn good. Maybe this update will change things.
The update is out. For some reason it shows that I'm missing an award on the HAMMER level. it looks likes it's from one of the levels that can't be repeated, so hopefully that gets fixed. Things seem good otherwise. All my heroes powers translated the way they were supposed to as far as I can tell.
I'm concerned the changes will shift the balance more in favour of people who pay for 2*-4* characters but let's see. I hope they change the mechanism where being attacked loses you points in the events, but I bet they won't. It's a major problem if you're in Europe - you lose your place then the events finish while you're asleep!
holy crap. this update is insane! it totally warped everybody's levels. for the most part, everybody is stronger, but now the skill upgrade costs that were like 50 coins are like 500! coins better start falling from the sky in this stupid game. edit: i see they reduced the upgrade levels for each skill from like 20 to 5. so i guess that makes getting each cover waaay better. geez, that's a really big change for people who've already invested in this game.
The update notes were misleading... o 2+ star character ability upgrade costs have been reduced o 1 star characters now require Hero Points to upgrade abilities. This is counterbalanced by the fact that the number of ability upgrades that is required has been greatly reduced and that most 1 star characters are available as rewards in Chapters or Events. To me, that implied that 2+ star character upgrades would be the same method but cheaper. Before I could upgrade Captain America with ISO-8 but now any upgrade seems to cost Hero points, not ISO-8. The update seems geared towards getting more money in rather than making the game more fun. Also, people who got the game early and levelled their characters up already have a huge advantage. I may be wrong but I'm not impressed so far. Edit: It does still seem pretty easy to get covers for 1* characters so maybe it's not so bad...
The patch seems like a big change but it's good to see that they are taking feedback on board. Something that I don't remember ever seeing mentioned in the game was the limit on skill levels - for characters with three skills, you can't max them all. With the new patch, you can only spend 13 total skill points (covers) for a character with three skills. So watch out when leveling skills - plan what you want to do beforehand.
The previous limit was 50 so you'd have 10 unfilled spots. As you mentioned, the limit now is 13 out of 15.
Noob question incoming... How do I recruit new heroes? It looks like I can buy them, but can I get them some other way? DBC
Newbie's Storm (Classic) Question Can anyone tell me how her yellow (Passive) skill works? I was using her together with Iron Man & Black Widow against Yelena Belova & her hitmans in the Venom campaign. I am pretty sure that my team was hit badly but somehow Storm's passive skill (Elemental Barrier) did not kick in...Needless to say, I lost badly... Please help...Thank you in advance!
I'm playing the Android version and am impressed with the update so far. Skills seem to hit harder and my party is doing better in battles overall. I like the fact that I'm finally getting 2 damage per attack tile with modern storm's attack-tile generating ability, as opposed to 1 before the update/conversion. I also got a 2 star wolverine from one of the recruit token rewards, which was unexpected and pleasantly surprised me - I thought the "free" tokens would generate 1 star heroes exclusively. Honestly, nothing to complain about so far from me; it seems to be an update where they listened to player feedback and made the game better. I haven't spent a penny yet (granted I only play about 20 minutes a day) and it's a lot more fun than I expected.
The update is good, but I feel like restarting my game now. They changed the rewards for every mission and now I have no way of earning those. I had completed all of HAMMER and Juggernaut. There are at least two Iron Man blie covers I have seen as new rewards for Juggernaut levels... but mine are marked as already won because I got everything in Juggernaut before the update. My poor Iron Man remains with 0 blue ability.
