Already covered: Luke Cage, War Machine, Spiderman. Other standouts: Black Widow: comparatively easy to rank up, and packs a punch from early on right through (mine is currently just about to hit 5 stars). Arguably better than Spiderman for mob clearing, and very strong for kiting. Even stronger once you add the uniform. Black Panther: I haven't really invested in this character much due to lack of bio availability and other characters to spend on, but even with no upgrades whatsoever, he was packing a noticeable punch in villain siege (high damage, and very agile for kiting). I upgraded his gear to level 5, still no skill upgrades, and he was able to take down a level 35 Ronan mostly by himself (at level 25 or so from memory)
Agreed, but I'd put Ultron in the top 5 once his uniforms are taken into account. With uniforms Ultron becomes an all out machine (no pun intended) against mobs and bosses. Black Widow is fantastic and keeps on growing throughout the game, unlike some other characters where they fall behind for a while and it feels almost like a chore to get them through the trough of disillusionment for them to reach their plateau of excellence. And yes, some heroes just don't make it. Both characters gain much from their passive at 4*: Ultron's resistance to Green Goblin's poison and Black Panther's bleed; Black Widow's 5% physical attack boost is seemingly small but you have to consider that she's an assassin and needs to be played like that. Ultron's 5* AOE attack and Black Widow's 5* boss killer skills are just the icing on the cake. FWIW, my chosen two teams to run are CO and JI, in that order. And yet I find BW preferable to Spider-Man for use in mixed teams.
^Yeah i forgot to mention that Ultron's Uniforms are what pushes him farther above the other universals. I actually prefer the no-synergy Ultron+Vision(Universal)+Ronan(leader) than Created Ones. You lose a few stats off the synergy and the synergy attack, but you get a huge bonus to attack and defense on the 2 characters that really make the team strong. I'd rate Ronan as a mediocre character when playing as him, but push him to be one of the best team-comp-specific characters like in this composition. His leadership skill is just too powerful with a 3-man universal team. Vision is a beast... I dont think there's need to explain that. Now add at least 18% (based off a rank3 Ronan) to his base attack and defense stats and he becomes all sorts of crazy powerful. As for Ultron, his Uniforms give him a huge type=advantage without the weaknesses on top of the +10% stat bonuses you get from them. Add more stats to that through Ronan, and you have a bulldozer to easily cleanup mobs. On top of all that, Ronan isnt that bad either. I'd easily drop The Destroyer and his bonuses for what Ronan provides. Ronan's leadership also scales with him which makes for really strong endgame targets to go for.
Agree completely, he also has the fastest bios farm in the game, can get 10-20 pieces a day easily, will easily out grow all other characters. With his high health/healing I suspect he will be a beast at 5 star when he gets his triple slash move. Surprisingly safe specials as well when kiting. +30% attack/defense at 5 star is just too good, completely destroys any other team bonus.
When you play as Ultron in this team you get a consolation prize of both of the other teammates being strikers for him. I'm still a fan of Iron Mania. Each team member is solid (Hulkbuster is a lot of fun) and you have two workable choices for leader. Plus the team attack is still one of the most visually satisfiying.
I really like how this game has no actualy multiplayer mainly because it allows for us players to actually create and play teams we actually like, rather than go for OP ones. I still really enjoy playing the Tree, Bird & Octopus comp without fear of losing to anyone's highend setup. And yeah, Iron Mania is a pretty fun comp to play around with.
Can't help it. I am a sucker for these types of games and if I play long enough I start to justify in app purchases. Haven't yet with this game but I can see it getting there!
I've just finished elite 8-9 with 3 mastered JI Spiderman +12 lvl 40 skills Venom and Marvel +10 lvl 30 skills Iso set (all): Angel of death I won't need 8-10 coz we can far black bolt @Arena at the moment and I'll start to upgrade my other team: In the name of the king, blunt force and Ronan's Created Ones. Thx for all the advices guy, I been tracking this post and Gamefaq's one since 2 months ago and I learnt a lot!
Now that you've gone that far, you should finish the last one. Doing so will open the last bonus stage and it's well worth it
I know but I'm saving crystals now and I'm pretty sure I'll need a continue so I'm going to make it when I really need it
Has anyone tried a Star-Lord led all-energy team? His leadership skill will give blast types +30% energy attack at mastery level4 which should be more than enough to cover for the damage redux against speed types, and you wouldnt really worry about the damage dealt to you since most of the time you'll be kiting with the blast type characters. Im thinking either Ironman+War Machine or Rocket+MODOK For the synergies, but i think the former will be a better comp since War Machine is top-tier, and Ironman's arguably the best hit-n-run kiter. On the other hand, MODOK provides solid crowd control and Rocket's just plain fun to use.
I'll be there soon. I have gotten sidetracked pretty hard by Fallout Shelter so have only been doing dailies and using tickets but...almost at 4 stars with Star-Lord and the others are already there. I'll let you know.
^Awesome! I hate using tickets coz i dont get shield XP from clearing through those. I have over 1k tickets Only reason i use them is to use up energy when im about to level up my SHIELD level.
Finally, Villain Siege #9 beaten. Took total 33 heroes to take this down. Final battle took 5 heroes (1st; Capt. Marvel 40 & Venom 39 - 2nd; Memories of Civil War) 1st team only managed to decrease 29% of Bullseye HP. Iron Man 44 Spidey 44 Capt 42. My man of the match for the final battle is IRON MAN. He's the best Blast hero IMO, true damage dealer (4,200 Energy Atk). Without his 1st and 4th skill, which almost always 'break defense', I don't think I can manage 2 minutes to beat Bullseye. Iron Man also has 20% decrease in Cooldown Time which take his 4th skill from 15 secs to 11 secs only (1 sec from gear) which is VERY IMPORTANT in this 2 minutes battle. Spidey and Capt a bit overwhelmed because the slow effect in Bullseye stage. As Blast, Vision is good, but his 4th skill is not ranged and easily avoidable by Bullseye (using his 2nd skill). His leadership is not so useful in this battle. Good luck all.
Same here... Have never spent this much on a ftp game... And I have played alot of em This one is doing something right...
Congrats! I can only imagine when it will be for me. I still struggle on #8...can only beat it if it's not Doc Oc. or Bullseye.
