Here's another tip that some may not be aware of: Ever notice that some of your teammates jump in at certain times to help you out? These are called strikers and you can check out who any hero works with in the Marvel Universe guide. This is useful because your levelled up Striker teammates actually do a lot of damage. For example, if your character has Spider-Man as a Striker, he can jump in and web them all...very useful. In some ways, I find the Strikers to be a more important consideration in building a team than the synergies. Another example is Star-Lord. He has very limited team synergies (mostly with the new characters). But, when on a team with Black Widow (my main workhorse level clearer) he is a Striker for her and his Crowd Control is amazing. Another example is Venom. I am using a Luke Cage/Spider-Man/Venom team in Arena and in levels now and it is great. Why? Not only is there synergy bonuses through Spider-Man/Venom but also both are Strikers for Luke Cage (Venom at 20% which is huge). Check out Strikers...it makes a big difference.
The post you quoted when you asked the question was exactly the sa,e as what i explained. LOL I just added the "if you prefer..." Line and then you understood. Maybe it needed a little snark to be understood? Sorry if it came out rude though. Wasnt the intention. Internets, y'know.
No, it wasn't the same. It didn't explain that the first +x bonus was small, which you did explain. Apology accepted, and thanks for explaining.
Yeah I just got Groot to 2⭐️ and got really lucky with bios for Rocket, so now at 3⭐️.....good day # EDIT: I like how Starlord does his little dance when you equip him Lol
Ronan and Arena - first impressions I have been waiting for a while to see how Ronan and Ronan-led teams pan out in Arena. Luckily I got to see it just now. I'm running the Created Ones team in Arena now, having gotten bored with JI's sameness in the Arena. My team: Ultron Prime (AoU), 4*, lvl 40, full mastery Vision - Universal, 4*, lvl 40, full mastery Destroyer, 4*, lvl 39, 2 mastery Got attacked by 4* Ronan and his team. Clearly Ronan is only lvl 30 in that team and so has a deal of growing to do. I pitted Ultron against Ronan and Ultron, then tagged in Destroyer against Ultron and finally Vision finished the enemy Vision. I auto-played it, other than tagging in right team members, just to see how AI v AI works. It was close, but Ronan's bonus on paper doesn't add up to that much against a team that's semi-automatic.
Totally agree, and for me it's one of the biggest missing features in the interface that you can't see an individuals strikers from the stat screen off the team menu (but you can see a list of team bonuses, although being able to filter down to teams including the selected hero would be nice). Striker info is only available in Marvel Universe. Strikers help in every game mode except arena and villain siege. From what I saw in that stats Google Docs stats spreadsheet that was floating around, strikers are available/chosen based on their synergy with the team leader instead of who is currently tagged in to fight. I haven't experimented with that personally, but if that's the case, it increases the number of teams with all 3 being strikers if you're smart with who leads them. Also note you can't assume that all members of a team with team bonuses all have striker synergy with each other.
That is the team I am building! How close was it? 10 levels on Ronan is pretty big. Also iso 8 make a big difference. On paper +24% offense/defense, he should have won despite 10 level on one character. But the Ronan leadership just sounds too good, I almost think it is a tipo. How does your created one team perform in villain siege and arena vs ji? Can it beat ji autoplayed?
CO team is fantastic in the Arena. I've been auto-playing it since the start of this round and I thought I'll have to switch back to JI when things get tough, but they just never did. I'm in the JI-thick part of the battle ladder now (top 0.1% - 1%), typically up against all 4*, lvl 40 JI teams and my CO team never breaks a sweat taking them down. The ISO8 sets I'm using are odd choices, too: Ultron has "Good luck and bad luck", Vision has "Animal Instinct" and Destroyer will have "Bloodlust" as soon as he's level 40. All my ISO8 are at least 3*. CO v JI: Destroyer (energy deflect) v Captain Marvel (energy deflect) Vision (physical deflect) v Venom Ultron or Vision v Spider-Man Vision is a beast against both Spider-Man and Venom, Ultron is good to tag in whenever you feel like it. Ultron's versatility can be his biggest weakness in the Arena. As for the fight against Ronan&Co, Ultron swept the ground with Ronan without an issue. He lost about 30% of his HP during that fight. After Ultron lost another ~30% HP (opponent Ultron was at that stage at about 50% HP) I tagged in Destroyer for his energy deflect skill which kicked in too late to save Destroyer but he took enemy Ultron down to about 20%. Vision came in and dealt with both enemy Ultron and enemy Vision. My Vision ended up with about 20% HP at the end. That's "close" in my books because such HP differences are often a single special attack away. I normally see Area fights through with no hero loss and most of them with more than 40% HP left - next time I'm facing Ronan-led teams I'm definitely driving. I clearly remember this fight because it was the first one against Ronan. I'm not so sure it would've gone as easily with Ronan at higher level.
Ahh I was hoping for a pure auto-fight, with manual tagging it makes a HUGE difference to get characters that just spent their cooldowns out of the fight. Plus looks like Ronan was a freebie with 10 level gap, can't do much there. I love full universal team because opponent can not cheat and just use counter classes. Spiderman is owned so easily by top combat characters yet destroys top blaster characters. It funny how you are supposed to put in a weak primary team so you can get attacked and earn arena points on revenges. I really hope they revamp the arena system a bit. I am definitely building toward the Ronan/Ultron/Vision team, on paper should be the best team in the game. Ronan is so easy to farm to, 6 energy per bios if you farm difficulty 40 or 50, 10 runs a day plus two unlimited windows.
True on tagging to a degree. In Arena the cooldown time for tagging in heroes is decently long now, so there's no chance to tag in and out as often as specials are worn down. Actually, the cooldown is long enough that I often find I can't use my favourite heroes against specific opponents because the cooldown timer hasn't run out. But yes, Ronan needs to get to lvl 40 before any real comparison can be done. I was hoping that in revenge matches (never used that until last week when I found out that you can get tokens for revenge matches) you're stuck fighting back with the same team that originally lost. Now that would be a proper revenge match. I'm still going to level up and rank up Ronan (long-term goal) but I'm thinking more along the lines of Ronan/Destroyer/Vision for Arena. Destroyer's great against energy attackers, has skills that have good stuns and can kite more effectively than Ultron. Ultron is still my go-to for clearing out mobs in Missions.
Well, Starlord is through Arena tickets and Rocket was just through log-ins and shifters. I wait until I have a full free recharge and then spam Groot for the unlimited 1/2 hour. I think I get around 12 level 4 runs in. And yes, it is the hardest and most boring 1/2 hour of the game. ;( But...its Groot!
Strikers work for whomever is tagged in, not just the leader...assuming the teammates are also on their striker list as well. This is true in some cases meaning the synergy team is not as 'good'. I wouldn't build a team where the strikers and synergies don't work together.
Wow. This explains a lot. Initially I was in the top 200 every week and now I am mildly struggling to stay in the top 1%. I never lose a match so I was thinking a whole bunch of people must have been spending gems to get extra runs. I also never get any revenge runs...guess everyone is scared of my team. A couple of questions: 1. Do you lose Arena points if you lose to someone else...(to get the revenge option)? 2. I always assumed that the first character in your first team slot is the one your friends get to use. If you have a weak arena team in the first slot, doesn't this screw your friends over? 3. Does anyone know how the Arena points are calculated after a match? I always choose the first team to fight and generally get +30 to +33 points for the win but sometimes I only get +25... I don't know why.
1. No I don't think so (for matches where you are attacked). Note that if you lose a revenge match you initiate it works just the same way as losing a normal arena match (arena points and honour tokens wise, and you lose your winning streak too) 2. From what I've heard/read the arena team for revenges is the team you most recently entered an arena match with .. so what people do is do 9 matches and any revenges with their normal team, then do the final match with a weaker bait team. So the only fiddling team wise you may need to do is if you want to use one of your support heros in your bait team (a hero can't be on support and in the team at the same time) 3. No definitive answer, but from what I've observed, it seems to be a combination of your opponent's arena rank relative to yours, and some assessment of your team strength relative to theirs (I seem to get more arena points at around the same arena ranking if I take on teams with higher starred and ranked heros). I also suspect activating support characters during a match penalises your score, but haven't tested it thoroughly.
I was one bio away from Ronan after my 30 minutes of unlimited play. It took me the 6 rounds to make it unlimited again (tripled played one difficulty since I can't beat the hardest one), and then about 12 times through on unlimited to get that one bio. Not fun. Not looking forward to getting to 3 stars. On the plus side, I now have all 8 Guardians characters, and only lack Black Cat!
Drop rate does seem low and they don't even give us a rough guesstimate of the drop rates. For example, "Medium" in elites seems to be about 40%, but playing on the same difficulty that gives me a medium drop rate for elites sure as heck doesn't give me 40% in the specials. Makes the whole "unlimited entry" into a farce. I'm not going to put too much energy into chasing the Guardians via Special missions for a while. With their track record, I figure they'll tweak the system soon enough.
Guys, What is your preferred 4th gear bonus, Attack Speed or Defense Penetration or Skill Cooldown Time? I know Critical option is in here too, but I'm not into Critical. I want to know your opinion and your experiment if any. Thanks.
