So basically, don't play the game until after the downtime so you can take advantage of all the new stuff, right? Man, I'm sort of sad I spent all those Hero Tokens to rank up Captain Marvel now, knowing I could've spent them to get a new hero quicker. Ah well. Any idea on whether it's just an update on their end or if the app will get updated as well? I'll try reinstalling after their update, but I'm doubting it'll help the app actually open again. Just crashing on launch still.
I am playing this game on an iPhone. I noticed that the iCloud backup for this game is over 100 MB. This is the documents and data file and not the actual game. Does anyone know why the backup file is so large?
Yes - I deleted the file and reinstalled. After reinstalling, the file was less than 1 MB, but the size is constantly increasing.
I turned off iCloud backup for this game - mine had grown to nearly a GB. Too much space for what my Facebook login covers. Suspect there has (had?) to be an error.
I deleted and reinstalled once after that problem and it worked for a day or two, then started crashing on launch. No amount of deletes/reinstalls has helped since then. But, I just saw that in the App Store it is listed as 1.2.0 instead of 1.1.3. So, I downloaded it, but my phone seemed to still download 1.1.3. Checked my update list and found it. Installed the 1.2.0 update, and then restarted my phone. And, still crashes on startup. So either it's just me (which many people on the App Store reviews have also had this problem), or it's an iOS 7 problem, or maybe all of us who jailbreak on iOS 7 are having this problem. I don't know. Keep getting a crash (Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT) in thread 0. Oh well. Less money I'll spend on playing this game, I guess.
Oh man! Maybe it is a jailbreak thing. Is this the sort of thing that would be done to help prevent cheaters/hackers? I have no idea how any of that works, but I'd assume that sort of thing is easier or only possible if you're jailbroken.
Yep, 1.2.0 at 466 MB to download. Tried to fire it up as well, but getting the "performing maintenance" screen (and it continually tries to load. On 6+ running 8.3. Will post back when it's up and running if needed.
So seems like there's a few interesting changes other than the new characters . New game mode with gotg bosses. Bonus levels go to daily timer, and no more lasers. Elite energy down to 6. Up to 30 arena matches counting for honour tokens per day(but presumably still need to recharge every 10 matches). Reroll of gear stats for gold. Uniforms buffed to give more bonuses. Gotg characters as villain siege bosses. A lot to take in. Wonder if they're going to do another round of team packs as well?
Ah, man! The game went to the start up screen and was downloading the new content and I thought it was finally live, but not I'm back to the maintenance announcement. Quit teasing me game!
