I was doing some quick math in my head, and I realized that if I play my 10 timeline battles every day and get the Captian Marvel bios, I will get her to 6 stars in late November or early December. I think the game will evolve enough that I will still play, since my love of Marvel isn't going anywhere. But, man, that's pretty far away.
No, whales are awesome, they fund the game for everybody else. Why should you care? If someone one wants to drop several hundred dollars, maybe more, so they can be at the top of a ladder temporarily that earns them less crystals than they "invested" it doesn't hurt anyone and helps everyone else keep on getting updates and new things to do. Please don't tell me you were delusional enough to think there was such a thing as a "competitive" ladder in a free to play game that wasn't decided somewhere between mostly to all by money? These games are funded by ePeen envy. Be content with what you're swinging, spend only as much as you think the game is worth, and ignore the fools with their storage unit full of ePeen pumps and enlarging pills
You're wrong. It is unfortunate that people buy their way to the top. It isn't a bad thing that it is possible to do so - obviously money needs to be made. It is unfortunate that the whales actually do it. They're cheating themselves out of playing the actual game buy purchasing victory, and they're cheating normal/FTP/"throw a few bucks at the game" players out of legitimate victory for their effort. Nobody wins.
Just another downside to f2p games. I'll never beat that guy. I don't have enough disposable income to throw at IAPs. But if it was premium and we only differed by play time, I'd feel more satisfied when I got demolished because at least I could've done something about it (spent more time leveling up). But eh. Still a fun game. It is f2p done well at least.
That's nothing, there's a guy on the Future Fight Prime facebook group that posted a screenshot that included 3 full mastery 6* characters including Destroyer! I'm in two minds about the "pay to progress faster" model .. on one hand it's good for the cheapskates because the gem spenders who haven't grinded up their characters that much are easily beatable in arena, so it's not too hard to get in around the top 1% for 220 gem reward without spending anything. On the other hand, it's going to be months until I get Captain Marvel to 6* even with a predictable 3 bios per day. Apparently the main bottleneck these days for the whales upgrading characters even further is dimension dust for high level gear upgrades.
Have Blunt Force or Founding Fathers already been one of the team packs? I think one has.....but I can't recall...anyone?
From memory, neither has appeared yet. They seem to try to avoid too much hero overlap particularly in the same round of packs so no one can buy multiple packs and too rapidly advance one hero. There's been a team pack with Thor in both rounds so far, as with Captain America. Note that someone has put together a very comprehensive resource on the game (covering bios / team bonuses and strikers / base stats at L50 etc) at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1FV3hmxlpuyoP2_4khDAt9-oOItHVopHgnC8YR-L39V0/
No, Captain America is only in the first. I am patiently waiting for Memories of Civil War's package. I am tempted to buy the Power! package now
Same here, but only to get Hulk. Don't really care for Cage or Kingpin, and as far as bonuses go, I still like Spidey/Venom/Marvel for the Symbiotic + Journalistic integrity.
I have the latest version, but it crashes at random. Especially at end of missions. It is a bit annoying.
Some of the team packs from last time show up again today. I hope after these packs expire in 3 days they rotate to new sets. Cant wait to get my hands on 50 bios each for the Enemies of Kingpin.
I really want to buy another pack. I just wish Spider-Man, Black Widow and Captain Marvel were a team somehow, haha. Those are my three favorite/best fighters. I could get any of them to 5-stars if I bought a pack right now, and twoh would be there if I bought Journalist Integrity. Hmm.
Not Magneto specifically, but this sort of urge is why I am resisting any more of the current packs and sitting on my crystals. I've unlocked everyone I care about except Hulk (and, including the green guy, only 5 locked characters remain). Already know Guardians are coming (and I really want a blinged out gun toting racoon over here) and if the X-Men don't make their way into the game, what is the point in going on living?
All a matter of perspective. At this point, there is not exactly a ton of variety in the game. I think of it Marvel-verse Pokemon more than anything. What tends to keep me playing these games long term is that gradual build up. I'm not positive I'll still be playing in November, but I also won't be surprised. Although the initial rush is over and things are moving slower, the game still has a really nice sense of progression. Whatever I do on any given day, when I go to bed somebody is another level higher, or somebody has slightly better ISO-8, or somebody got ranked up a star, or somebody got their mastery ranked up, etc., etc., etc. So many games in the broad free to build up *something* market peter out into total gridlock after the first month or two where every single finite bit of progression takes days to weeks, and many of the remaining games in the genre become similarly boring as you soon do hit a point where there is nothing left to do but cross your fingers the developers add in something new to distract you. So long as they keep releasing new characters and expand the gameplay options, this is a very well tuned gerbil wheel without an end in sight
