I'd agree, I use Luke Cage, Black Widow and Captain marvel as my mains, and I usually have no issue finding winnable arena matches in the top 500 or so.
War Machine is better against bosses/Arena until you level Iron Man to 3*. Iron Man is great for story mode and kiting mobs.
Just keep refreshing the recommended list until you find someone beatable above your current rank (in the arena). Since a lot of people pay to recharge their arena entries to get higher rank, you just need to find someone each match who is ranked higher than they should be for their team standard. Don't forget you can use assist characters when attacking, so an otherwise even match up should be in your favour. And on the whole I've found if you have heavily upgraded heros (level 23 plus skills, gear as high as you can get it, full iso-8 sets), you can usually take down heros a few levels above your own (but don't try ones that outrank you that's another story). Also unless you have a leadership bonus worth keeping (eg Luke Cage), order your characters to fit your opponent eg your blast against their combat and your combat versus their speed.
Some of the new packages are a great deal for completionists. Already grabbed the Siblings of Asgard and Iron Mania. Am greatly tempted by the Created Ones, but am going to need some huge luck at getting crystals before the end of the sale as I swear the $5 spot I dropped to make up the remaining crystals for the 2nd package is the last money I'm putting in until the Stark card expires (up to $31.94, not too bad ). Those 3 are the only sets being sold that you absolutely cannot farm one or more of the characters. The others are merely fast forwarding your progress and I can be patient for that. I kind of admire those of you sticking to one main team. I have no hope of such focus hehe. I particularly enjoyed how one person said only 5 or 6 Villain Siege a day was plenty when it's the most reliable source of rare biometrics in the game. That alone has me focused laser like on raising a large enough stable of powerful characters to clear that in its entirety every day (although a long way from being there).
You are correct. Villain seige is awesome because you also get high end materials for your gear as well as the guaranteed bios. I can usually beat stage 6 now and to do that, you have to level up multiple heroes. I think I currently have 10 3 star heroes with gear up to level 9. However, to beat the normal and elite missions, and to compete well in the Arena, you need three characters that are your mains. Those should be ones who have easily farmable bios or you will struggle to get them to 4 stars and above. I love playing around with my lower level heroes in missions. I am really loving Thor for crowd control as his skills are awesome. I am going to focus on making him strong next. That's the beauty of this game. So much to do...
Really like this game atm but theres only one thing that bothers me and that is the fact that there arent enough 2-Hero Bonuses. It seems only the more popular Heros get included in them and that allows Double Bonuses on certain Teams. Would be nice if there were some for the lesser popular Heros.
So apparently they're giving out a free hero. Haha, my first offer was a one star Iron Fist. No thanks. I wonder what the chances are of getting offered a Destroyer, or even Black Cat. Or maybe a 5 or 6 star hero even (I wouldn't even care who then, I'd take that in a heartbeat). haha, that'd be the day. The stars would have to align juuust right.

My game glitched out when I turned it on so I think I missed the hero selection. I don't see any extra bios, so maybe it took that as a no?
this new event claim/reject hero is a joke.... i already decline 2 choices..... winter soldier and hawkeye.... serious ? earlier heroes 1 star rank ?
This is an event meant for new players to unlock some heroes early. For those who have been playing a while at least we get 8 bios for heroes/villains we already have, but at a random selection, most likely for a base-one-star hero/villain.
Any chances to get daredevil or elektra at least? Edit: well lets hope get daredevil tomorrow.... Elektra or black cat are off limits
Daredevil's definitely there, I accepted that offer this morning (since the only 1-star I don't have is Red Skull, so chances of that coming up is slim)
Dimension rifts are completely random. Random chance to open one from normal mission and a random chance of which one you'll open.
After rejecting Luke Cage and Blade I only have 6 more chances to get one of (in order of preference): Red Skull Bullseye Green Goblin Daredevil Getting 8 biometrics for either one of these would be neat. Note: they're all late game characters that come to shine after 3* (at least as far as I could discern from their 3rd skill descriptions). Odds of actually getting one of these?
They also occur from elite missions, but less often from what I've seen. The more active friends you have (in game, and facebook), the better, since they'll open rifts that you can play on. Also good for your gold, since you get $2500 each time a new person plays one of your rifts.
