The game has to go that way to survive in today's market... You don't have to partake unless you are dead set on being tops in pvp... I assure you that I haven't spent as a whale and the content is very do-able. Of course I'm very patient and love to grind, also I give a total of zero craps about pvp. I enjoy the gameplay and the characters, and I don't consider any of the game to have paywalls. That meaning I've never felt I need to pay to advance in anyway. The IAP will get you to the top faster but why not take your time and enjoy the scenery if you aren't able to buy the consumable currency... I hate timers, but I've never even had to wait in this game because of how generous the timer is... Easily the best F2P ive ever played, and this is coming from someone who adamantly and vocally has ripped free games and timers specifically... I think I even said one time that j would never touch a game with one, guess I'm a Hipicrite . (I butchered that spelling cause auto correct didn't even throw out a suggestion #
Multiplayer impressions. The Good: Relatively lag free, if a player drops his character is controlled by AI, you don't lose until all three characters are knocked out so just run around if you are the only one left. The Bad: Same bosses/mechanisms as single player mode is just not going to cut it. It gets old fast. Boss only hits melee for the most part so you are just spamming damage all day long if you are ranged. It is just really boring without a damage meter. A simple damage meter with player doing most damage getting extra loot will be a lot more fun. Maybe even a world record. The Ugly: Reward at lower VIP level is a joke. I expect them to increase the number of chests you get at lower VIP levels, or reduce the number of wins you need for "best reward". It is only beta, hope they improve this a lot more. MAKE IT COMPETITIVE!
Another thing to add on the multiplayer: random enemy hero is not a good thing when it turns out to be Destroyer and you're using an energy attack hero. And VIP5 required before any of the good rewards .. although that ISO level upgrade ISO looks pretty sweet. Another random thought: I wonder if the $10 70 bio packs count towards VIP level .. they aren't crystals as such, so probably not...
Yup, the low level reward for the multiplayer beta is pretty pathetic. Im just glad the rest of the game is still pretty good.
I was curious about a few things so I took the plunge haha, it doesn't count towards VIP, and I believe it's only usable once. I haven't seen it pop back up, but it could be a monthly thing? I doubt it though,
Tell that to my random Whale friend who has all characters unlocked and 21 6 star heroes with level 15 gear, full ISO sets, and uniforms. Granted he seems to be on all the time based on the Dimension rifts he pens up but...the mind boggles. image.jpg (252.8 KB)
I am a little sad today. My shiny game became a little less shiny. I hope they can polish it up again. It also would have been nice if they didn't just reuse assets from Villain Siege and introduced new bosses/environments and/or gameplay challenges. Remember to use the official Community Forum and let them know what you think of the Co-op update.
High level VIPs get increased Dimension Rift opening chances, so that could be a factor... Yea I know someone similar with 15 6 stars (attached screenshot) .. but I get the impression he also plays all the time. AFAICT no matter how much money you throw at it, there's still a substantial time investment even if it's autoplay ++ mission after mission.
I'm a new player and enjoying the game. I think it's been less than a month for me. I have dropped some serious $$$ on this game because I am enjoying it so much. This last update really offered nothing. Also, for the first time I feel suckered by the IAP. I purchased the $25 offer they threw up on the main menu. It might as well have said "This is because we think whales are suckers". What I got was alright but there wasn't much of a description and it's not something I thought was really helpful towards my goals. It was the first time this game made me regret spending money. I'm hoping future updates will be better but what they did this last time is take a game I really like and felt good about supporting and made me reluctant to give them more dollars in the future.
Many people feel the same after the last update, including myself. I hope they listen to the complaints. I am almost vip 5. But wont spend another cent before I see what the next patch does
Game went up 12 spots in China/US top grossing charts, 6 spots in South Korea to #5, hopefully they can stay there with a stronger IAP model. 70 bios for $10 will sucker a lot of people in. For me you get two stark's stash with that and can get 500 bios over two months if you are patient. Unfortunately, still zero new end game contents, I am going to just farm 10 yellow jacket a day, dimension shard from level 1 rifts, do my daily's, and clearing ticket everything else. Multiplayer in its current form is not worth playing at all for VIP 1's like me. At least give me dimension shards. The raid bosses are same rehash of single player, just more HP and really boring.
500 bios yes, but not Black Cat or get my Black Panther to 4*, lol! I need 3 bios for her and 3 bios to get my Black Panther to 4* and that's after playing everyday since release and purchasing bios when they were available! Some bios are much harder to get then others and I could totally see myself being a knowing sucker and buying the 70 bios IAP for a character that is hard to get since you get to pick! Point: some may bite knowing it's not a great deal but willing because some characters may see worth it that are much more a grind to get than others!
Would agree the latest update is a little underwhelming overall. The multiplayer mode bombs out for me (on mobile internet on Android), so haven't really explored that too much, will need to retest on Wifi. New 6* skills are all well and good, but it's a hell of a long grind to get those 320 bios to upgrade a 5* to a 6*. The best thing in the update to my mind is the skill preview, although it's a bit hard to tell from it how effective the skills are against a single boss rather than a mob. In other news, faced a 5* Black Panther in arena today, and he wiped the floor with my 5* Luke Cage (about a third health left, full auto, no assists). That is one very strong hero. If he wasn't so difficult to get bios for I'd seriously consider levelling him up to be one of my mains.
Wow... The special mission did become a little more difficult. My full auto Ironman runs on stage5 of the Yellow Jacket farm usually takes 1:50 to 2:10. Now i cant 3-star full auto it with a fully decked out lv45 Ironman, and if i manually control, i usually take about 2:45-2:55 now.
I used to get at least 8 to 10 shifter bios in the Yellowjacket special mission for a 20 to 25 mission-run. Now i got only 2 shifter bios for a 25 mission-run. The patch really hit the droprates hard. Here's hoping I can get enough Ant-man/Wasp bios to at least 4* star both in my grind for the 300+ bios needed to 6* YJ.
I know right?! WHAT!! The thread dropped out of he hottest games sidebar for the first time since launch?? Come on guys, fight that decay algorithm! Bump this baby. In an alternate dimension, it's right there at the top.
I just got him to 5* today and put him up against Stage 8 Destroyer in VS. I knew Black Panther was a beast (no pun intended) in the Arena at 4* already, and I knew he was good against Destroyer, but his 5* skill makes chaining a lot easier. Poetry in motion. Speaking of surprisingly good heroes, I'm more and more in awe of the Wasp. Her leadership is fantastic and she's great in the multiplayer as a support that can deal damage, especially once you get her to 5*. Yesterday I was in Multiplayer against Bullseye in a team with a 5* Captain America (no uniform, no master) and a 4* Daredevil (2* master). Overall you'd give no chance to such a team, yet we beat Bullseye with plenty of time to spare, largely thanks to her AoE CD skill.
