Enjoying the game but it's a bit ridiculous to get a starter pack with one character and one ability for TEN DOLLARS and then consider it sixty five percent off. Are you telling me that you think one character in your f2p game is worth half the price of a triple A title? If it were five bucks without a sale I probably would've bought it
Make sure not to buy any characters or packs like this. I've been playing since the start and have all but the four most recent characters - and honestly, the only reason I don't is because I'm saving my gold for something better down the line. You'll have Spider-Man and every ability very quickly if you play the game. In general, do not spend money on this game.
First rule of "free" to play: if you pay, you must overpay to make up for all the people not paying anything. How much you overpay varies from publisher and/or game, but you rarely see anything priced like what someone who hasn't been paying in F2P games for a prolonged period thinks it ought to be worth. F2P is basically a patreon system.
I've beaten the entire first section of missions and spent 100 gold just trying to get a new character and have only gotten new abilities and red power pack things. If this continues im just going to delete it since unlocking heroes is kind of the entire godamn reason to play Edit: The game finally took mercy on me and gave me war machine
Unlocking things is not the entire reason to play. Playing is the entire reason to play. Enjoy the combat and have fun with mechanics. Test your skills against stringer teams and play through PVP. Don't allow yourself to believe that playing is pointless if you're not rewarded with characters.
Im with you. Finding it very hard to get characters. Even blew through all my gold just trying to get one and only got wasp.
Then you got arguably the best and most important one. Congrats! You just won 90 percent of your matches.
Queen Bee, Drone Swarm and Bioenergy Blast. She's the best tank in the game. Use Queen Bee and you/your team won't get hit. Once she's level 20 she's nearly perfect. Too powerful, many would say.
Are you tired of playing as the popular, awesome and cool superheroes in the Marvel Universe, like Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Spider-Man, and Wolverine? Did you think Hawkeye was underrated, do you want to be Hawkeye? Do you wish you could have Hawkeye lead your team of B-List obscure Marvel heroes in a fight against endless waves of faceless henchman while squaring off against such powerhouses as Boomerang and Mysterio? Man, has Marvel made your game! Team up with Hawkeye, the Guardians of the Galaxy no one cares about, Spider-Woman, Iron Fist, and probably some others I just haven't drawn yet. Immediately pull duplicate abilities that earn you some weird in-game currency that doesn't seem all that useful. Look at an impressive roster of heroes that you have less than 1% chance of drawing even if you spend real money! Or you can just outright buy Spider-Man at the beginning for $10 because that's probably the only way you'll get a hero you actually give 2 craps about. Alright, now that the snark is out of my system. The gameplay itself is pretty bog standard F2P turn-based stuff. It's not bad but some of the early praise for it seems misplaced. As a time killer while you watch TV or whatever it's sufficient. It's got a lot of the standard F2P tropes but it's not obnoxious about it. The gameplay could be tighter with less time just doing tedious turn-based battles but if you enjoy RPG's where the numbers go up, this scratches that itch. (That would be me, BTW) A little concerning is the game hinting you'll need a "specific combination of elements" at higher levels for your characters, which is the kind of F2P BS I'm getting very tired of. It's a solid game that is far less obnoxious with F2P crap than the original Avengers Alliance but it also seems to lock anything interesting away behind the same stupid gambling mechanic so many other games do. As such, I refuse to give it any money on "gold" purchases. If you're not a Marvel fan though, there is probably nothing here for you. There are plenty of other turn-based JRPG-lites already available.
Yes I enjoy the mechanics of a turn based mobile rpg which is simple as all hell. That's ridiculous. Everyone plays to get more stuff and unlock more things. That's pretty much mobile gaming in a nutshell. Nice try defending their lack of giving us actual heroes but it's ludicrous to have abilities and heroes with the same cell and to constantly get duplicates giving you stuff for scout missions which you can do because your heroes are god awful and have no synergy. I've got 3 defenders and hawkeye. At this point he literally deals 95% of my damage. So yes, I would like to unlock things just like every single other person
Play more? I've got all but the latest four heroes. I didn't spend money and it wasn't hard. They are certainly giving us "actual" heroes - you just don't have them yet. If you just started playing, relax. You've barely begun. Hawkeye is an excellent hero for taking down the best character in the game. Who are your three defenders?
I'm definitely enjoying this one. It's definitely reminded me why I played Avengers Alliance for months and months, then was willing to start the game over when the mobile version came out. Abusive IAP Tapjoy junk and all, I sure loved that game. This one feels a little better balanced on the IAP front. The gameplay is a little more complex. The graphics are way different (not necessarily "better," since the visual styles are not a 1:1 comparison) - I like them better. Overall, I'm enjoying this one. Doubt I'll be able to pull of getting Nova, but so it is.
FYI, it does not appear that the various hacks and exploits that murdered MAA1 PVP are present here. We may actually have fair fights! I've reached top rank in each PVP season without spending a cent or trying *that* hard.
That's great news! I don't know - I guess it will depend on how much I play. Right now I'm too weak to get past 23 (got there and dropped back to 25), but I've also been playing less than 24 hours. Just level Luke Cage to 10, and working on Hawkeye and Spider Woman. Their trio plays slow, but helps me last pretty well (tank that draws hits, auto return attack, and group heal/buff). I do like that it seems to be more based on my personal wins and losses instead of an actual ranking. I assume that if get to a rank and stop playing, I will never move for the duration of the event?
Correct. Reach a rank and never go down. And there are no defense loses. If I beat your AI you don't lose a point. The team you have is actually very good. Find good abilities with them and rank them up to increase speed and damage. Luke Cage tanks, Spider Woman heals and Hawkeye does decent damage. Honestly - good PVP team.
It looks like I did. Went through the log in, and I just checked on my laptop, which shows AA2 in the app settings area. Haven't noticed any connection to my profile in game, but I picked Game Center first, so maybe that's why?
