This game doesn't have a star system for missions. Seriously, auto play isn't meant for a game where skills have multiple effects, and timing your moves is everything.
Why should I let it go? It is ridiculous to have a team of 3-star level 30s and not be able to beat the enemy team, even if all the other enemies are defeated because I can't hit their 8000 evasion Wasp with minor healing. Rounds can go on 15+ minutes with only their Wasp alive. That isn't broken, but you think an auto-play mode is??? BTW: I have Wasp, and because of her I went from not being able to Master the first stage, to beating every level and unlocking Nebula. She is broken.
Definitely not. If you don't time your recharges correctly, you'll end up losing her pretty easily. She excels in evasion, and there's no need to nerf her only good attribute.
Every discussion regarding facing Wasp in PVP is pointless because of one simple fact - you can quit any PVP match without taking a loss by simply closing the app (double tap the home button and swipe out of it). You can pick and choose which enemy team you want to face in this way. So if you see Wasp, exploit the game in the same exact way we were able to back in MAA1. (I had my first 10 minute match with Wasp yesterday, being totally unable to hit her even when she was normal-sized. Only by landing a lucky Touch of Death from Black Widow was I able to finally beat her. So I feel your pain.)
OK, let me break down the difference between autoplay apps and real games. Not attacking you here Barak, but your statement here made me really understand the problem here in a way I can articulate clearly. In an auto-play app, you replay the same levels over and over for simple materials which you have to use to upgrade your characters. A high-level character will need 100 pieces of gear found inside of a low level mission. You can beat that easily, so you why not skip it? In autoplay apps, you don't lose in regular matches. You might lose in PVP, but in all seriousness - you win nearly every level, all the time, with no skill involved. This is why it makes sense that you can autoplay something. You'd never lose, so you don't need to play. In Avengers Alliance 2, if you're doing a level 7 mission with level 30 characters, you will gain nothing of value. You won't gain much money, the materials you get will be pointless to your high level characters, and of course you won't gain XP. There's literally no reason to run a level 7 mission with your level 30 characters. If you want to benefit your level 30 characters, you need to play level 31-36 missions for high level materials and currency. You can't take the easy way out by auto-playing it, because the matches are so hard you're going to scrape by with 10 health left on your last hero. So. There's no reason to autoplay a level. It won't be helpful to anyone - unless they fundamentally change the way the game plays by either making everything very easy or making level 28 characters need hundreds of junk drops from level 2 to level up. Both of those options only hurt the game as it currently is and do nothing to add to the experience.
Oh, I totally see this and agree with you; I have played a lot of both types. Keep in mind, though, the end reward lottery items are usually good for even high level characters, and the cost of the individual missions are much cheaper. Running a low level on auto play for a quick chance at a 2-star ability you need, and a bunch of other stuff along the way, may be worth-while. I knew about that little "trick" and I figured it was an exploit that would be fixed. Assuming this would be fixed, it IS an issue (no matter what some people say). In PvE, levels that are almost impossible to beat with any other team, become trivial. In PvP, matches become 3v1 for 15+ minutes, which is neither fun or makes much sense. Even introducing a timer where whoever has done the most damage by a certain point wins, would solve this without needing to nerf Wasp in PvP.
Oh yes, it is for sure a problem, and one of the many reasons why I don't trust Playdom to make a good game in the end, haha. That fact that I have a 10-game win streak right now is insane. Since there's no change of rank on defense (when you attack my AI), then there's no reason they shouldn't give anyone who doesn't complete the match they begin an automatic loss. That's just common sense. They register that I'm starting the fight because they still remove my challenge point energy. Go all the way and make me lose if I'm disconnected. That's only fair. But Playdom isn't good/smart/mean/whatever enough to do that, so I win when I shouldn't. That's very bad game design.
Yeah, I have heard as much about Playdom. I played the original AA a lot of FB when it first came out but haven't played it in years. I guess you just accept it for what it is Btw, the game is apparently now available in Canada, for all you Canadians/"Canadians".
I sank a lot of time in the original Avengers Alliance, and now that it is (supposedly) in Canada, it might be time to check out the sequel. Not looking forward to the issues reported in this thread (i.e. Wasp being auto-win) but hopeful that we will see the devs adjust as needed!
Don't let the comments (including mine) scare you away. It's still one of the best Marvel games, and in my mind, one of the best orginal turn based RPGs ok the app store. Enjoy!
The Twitter account is teasing an Ant Man Spec Ops coming very soon. Cool. Glad they're doing events like that, as I currently have very little to do.
Oh great. This game has a lot of problems. Many of the same type of problems as the original did - ridiculous bugs, awful PVP, stupid design decisions, extremely unbalanced characters. Playdom is bad, that's a verified fact. There is some goodness in it, though. If you can look past the inability of Playdom to put out a quality product, you can get some enjoyment out of it. Just don't let yourself get sucked in too much.
The core mechanics of this game are solid. Its a great turn based RPG with a somewhat limited marvel line up. As mentioned above, bugs and lack of character balance are what really hurt this game. For example, there was a bug that would cause the game to crash during the final boss fight of the spec op which made it impossible to finish the spec op. So after putting days of work into completing the spec op, the only way to finish involved using the IAP currency to skip the final mission. Character balance is also really terrible. The first few PVP seasons were dominated by wasp who was almost unkillable and electro/star lord chain stun teams. The most recent season has been ruled by AOE team 1-shot black widow. She makes it possible to win a pvp match on your first turn. Luckily PVP rankings are much more forgiving than MAA1. Even in-spite of the problems, I have been having a great time playing the game. If playdom can balance characters a little better and pump out content at a faster rate, I could see myself playing this game for a long time.
Just watched the video, I'm not even going to bother installing. With Contest of Champions and Future Fight on my device already, sporting significantly better graphics, I don't see any place for this. I've already got the Star Wars game if I fancy turn-based combat.
I really wNt to play this, but it runs terribly. Cashes every two minutes... Im begging for a fix here...
