The first AA on Facebook was, by far, my favorite social freemium game. Played it for a long time. This is great and I'm having a blast. Keep playing and you will gather up quite a bit of gold and characters, and if you get abilities that are duplicated, the purple points will really help you level up your existing characters (abilities and stars). Seems pretty balanced so far and I don't have any 3 star characters. Oh, and keep in mind that your "friends" with good characters of the correct class can make the difference between hitting a wall and flying through it.
I got Star Lord yesterday and noticed the same thing. I have She-Hulk who has a group protection+self-heal ability in addition to the ability to do multiple attacks. Pretty happy with that! But Star Lord's group stun attack - that's the real OP.
7 day login award... You actually get to pick which 3 star Avenger you want. Awesome. I thought it would be a random draw. Very nice.
I chose Thor. But yes, it was a choice for me. Thor is preeeeeeeeeeetty great. I had a hard time choosing, but I'm glad I took him. Hopefully I'll be able to pull Captain America. I pulled Luke Cage and Star Lord yesterday
How the heck do you pull them like that? Just the 25 gold pull? All I have ever gotten was skills granted I did get a few 3 star skills.
Yes, 25 gold pulls. Well, actually, one of those I got for free as a task reward. But so far I've gotten many characters from the 25 gold pull. I've pulled Star Lord, Luke Cage, She-Hulk, Drax, Vision and Moon Knight so far (Hawkeye by default of course, and then Thor from the free Avenger choice today). Almost everyone has all of their one-star abilities and I've gotten a few of the one-star ones also. I haven't spent any money yet. I might be lucky? I can say that getting good skills is, I think, more important than getting all of the heroes. You need good skills and a core group of strong heroes to beat the tougher missions. It'd be cool if I could choose the heroes I want, but you know, I would have never chosen She-Hulk on my own and she's turned out to be the backbone of my team (protection, heals, strong hits, etc).
I chose Cap. Probably because it's a reflex choice since he was dominant for so long in MAA1. Also he's my 3 year old's favorite hero. But he's awesome here too so far. Yeah Andy you are blessed by the RNG gods. I haven't pulled any more heroes besides the "free" ones you get but I'm happy with Luke Cage and Wasp.
I had the hardest time choosing. I ended up picking Thor, because I love lightning. I've had help from black widow and iron man, but no Hulks or Captain Americas. I didn't choose hulk, because I have she hulk and Groot, but I think I should have picked iron man/widow/or cap, because iron man's aoe damage is insane, widow's single damage and rebuff is awesome and I haven't seen what cap can do yet.
Man I pretty much only have the initial characters and now Thor from 7 day login. I pulled a lot more skills than most it seems.
For me it was either Hulk or Cap. I already had 2 bruiser/tanks in Luke Cage and Moon Knight. Cap has a lot of nice buffs and stuns and is pretty tanky for a Tactical type.
I picked Iron Man because he was the one that kept wasting me in PvP. Not scientific, but... It was either him or Captain America, since someone has a level 25 cap on my friend's list and he has single-handedly helped me beat many single player missions.
I picked Iron Man for my 7 day reward. It was Cap, Iron Man, or Thor. I felt Thor is just too reliant on getting the additional attack proc. On a side note. I feel Wasp is the most underrated character. Once she gets off an ability to become small, I would say she either dodges or grazes 75% of attacks. I also upgraded her to 2 stars to buff her a little more. I use Wasp/Hawkeye/Gamora in pvp won 17 straight at lvl 8 now.(Not pushing it. I remember AA) I am really enjoying this game. If they can work on the anti cheat, some of the wonky AI, and keep the IAP's small, instead of needed, I will easily keep this game. And I got Spiderwoman & Star Lord with 25 gold rolls over the last 4 days. Took me awhile.
Thor is excellent - and his additional attack proc isn't random or anything. It is a 100% when he has two charges, which you'll get after your second attack with him (since his attacks almost all generate that charge). I've wiped teams with that discharge alone. Wasp is good - I keep Hawkeye on my team because of her. He never misses, so he goes right through all that, no problem.
So I chose Thor as well...Hope it works out lol I had a choice of all the Avengers and I had a hard time picking him over Hulk lol Can anyone purchase gold in the update? I click the + and it says no items available for purchase?
Advice - don't buy anything with real money during the soft launch. Things change way too often, and there's always the (tiny) chance they'll kill the game and never release it - just ask Marvel Avengers Alliance Tactics. I've faced Hulk a few times on PVP and have been underwhelmed. I one-hit KOd him in the first attack with my Hawkeye, so....
