Ah, ok. Thanks. That message about "get a headstart on unlocking" Groot has had me worried that I needed all of that before I could start gathering the REAL resources. How odd they didn't just give him a locked screen like everyone else. I guess so we couldn't just buy him with Shards?
How the HELL did you unlock everything without spending a dime? I haven't earned a single thing towards Rocket. I don't get how everyone is blazing through
Timers on my phone, persistence and a very small amount of strategy. Update: And confirmed, I'll get Groot. Just two battles away from beating my 7th Ronan to complete the streak. Probably have it finished tonight, actually. As with previous events, the changes they made right near the end made it easy to finish without worrying about money or blowing shards. Just another reminder to never buy the towers/things-which-drop-resources, as they'll increase them to make it possible every time!
I feel like a dummy. The level 6 champions seemed impossible to kill, so I assumed Ronan was untouchable. I didn't realize how that mechanic worked because I never saw the quest that explained it! Now I'm making headway, but at this point I think I'll have to pony up some crystals to speed up a few timers. Ronan 3rd streak is pretty tough, and there's 4 more...
No Groot for me. I have 17 hours left on Ronan streak 7, and I'd need about 5 more battles to take him down. I'm out of disruptors, and low on shards. Bleh. I'm going to focus on trying to upgrade the guys I do have, I guess.
Got six guardians (skipped Nebula), levelled half of them to max rank, and I've got a huge starship hanging out on campus. I Guess I can leave this event happy. Hope some parts of the battle mechanics slip into the main game somehow.
I purchased only the two premium characters (and used a few crystals to speed some stuff up) and I have all the characters unlocked, all the building upgraded, and should have everyone but Yondu upgraded by the end of the event.
I just got Rocket. How bad are the requirements for Groot? And once you get through all 7 streaks for Ronan, is he done for? Or do the streaks just start over?
The last streak (and it's rewards) repeat for as long as you keep the streak going (defeat Ronan at least once 24 hours). As for Groot, you need to beat the last streak twice to get enough seeds. Well, at least that's how it was for me. TinyCo keeps changing things on the go, so it may be even easier now... The event is almost over... I managed to recruit all the characters but had to spend some cash... Also I will be leaving the event with Groot and Rocket not fully leveled up... Oh, well, all I wanted from this event is pretty much StarLord and Gamora anyway...
Waiting for the event to end... Want my campus free of space-mummy bullies... But it's not happening... Times it counting backwards now... What the hell?
Looks like the new event starts tomorrow! I ended up spending $10 at the last minute to get Groot and finish a few quests. Ended up fully upgrading Star-Lord, Gamora, and Nebula. Got Yondu go 3. It was a fun event! Can't wait to see what has Cap and Tony at odds, in his version of Civil War. I'm sure it'll be something humorous
So The Guardians are still there, but there are no missions for them, and I can't upgrade them any more? Not impressed with that.
Their missions are all still available with the exception of event quests. It was also stated a while back and in the in game FAQ that a month after the event is over you will be able to upgrade GotG characters for coins. The two premium characters, however, can be upgraded immediately following the event's conclusion.
Yeah I worked on finishing up Nebula and Star-Lord thinking I could just upgrade Gamora and Drax after the event considering I had all the things necessary to get the parts needed, and this being the first event I didn't see myself completing I was okay with losing Rocket and Groot. But having the crystal tower and the wanted poster sitting right there on the campus when Gamora and Drax were so close to their final levels is kinda irksome.
I'm really happy with the GotG characters. All their quests seem to be relatively short and they don't conflict with other characters quest buildings as much as some of the older heroes did.
