I didn't quite understand the tutorial so it's kind of a guessing game of how to play the game and the mechanics of playing it are really abrupt. Kimchisoju Well-Known Member Jan 11, 2015 219 3 18 Male Caregiver #4 Kimchisoju, Aug 30, 2017 Well its... Ill be honest, a turn based fighting game doesnt sound like anyones cup of tea... especially me... right? Well, being able to fight others online, when i get free time to do so, i must say, i am enjoying this one. The tutorial is fine. And if anyone skips it, they will be lost for sure BUT it does speak for itself. Pick a card, swipe that manuever for the attack. Swipe the way the manuever wants you too, quick enough, your successful. If not then your not. You basically have 5 chances to boost an attack or to hit 5 times, then the other player has a chance to defend. He can defend then counter attack if hes fast enough. (I have been on rare occasion) you add whatever you want to say to the opponent as an insult (i have seen some creative ones and curse words already) but nothing too bad yet. And there you go. Its a casual when you get a chance to, fighting game that is brutal and i like it alot TLDR: give it a chance Artfoundry Well-Known Member May 11, 2009 2,519 2 38 COO and Creative Director at LCD Dreams, Inc. Bay area, CA #5 Artfoundry, Aug 30, 2017 I want to like the game - the mechanics are cool, and the game seems well done for the most part. But I find the swiping to follow the attack path to be ridiculously unforgiving. I fail most of the time but no idea why aside from it telling me I left the path (but as far as I can talk on following it fine). Ryankicker New Member Aug 30, 2017 3 0 0 #6 Ryankicker, Aug 30, 2017 Hey there , it does need a bit of practise but I think you might be doing it slowly? There's a countdown bar timer at the top, you need to swipe before it ends. I failed few times because of it when I was new to the game but I'm now I'm addicted! If my dad can actually play this game- and he's a seriously bad at playing, I think you can do it. Like another poster said give it another try. I can't put this game down. Aurelien.L Well-Known Member Dec 13, 2014 207 13 18 #7 Aurelien.L, Aug 30, 2017 agree with you! Ijipop Well-Known Member Jul 25, 2012 557 268 63 #8 Ijipop, Aug 30, 2017 The core idea is great. The real downside for now is that. I started 10 online fights. Finished none. When an opponent knows they're gonna loose the don't finish the fight to keep their stats. Good idea, good game. But the online, wich it's all about, doesn't really works for now. woogoat Active Member Sep 3, 2013 29 0 1 #9 woogoat, Aug 30, 2017 If I didn't have to swipe, I'd enjoy it. Feels gimmicky to me and slows the pace down. pheriannath Well-Known Member Jun 9, 2012 99 2 8 #10 pheriannath, Aug 30, 2017 I fully agree. This could work out well if online fights could time out, with the win maybe defaulting to the last fighter to move. FusionFountain Member Jun 19, 2016 8 0 0 #11 FusionFountain, Aug 30, 2017 Crashes after loading for me Ryankicker New Member Aug 30, 2017 3 0 0 #12 Ryankicker, Aug 30, 2017 Actually the game does that already , once the other player stops taking turns his in 48hrs , it' goes into "defenceless mode " and you can beat him up until he's finished. Ryankicker New Member Aug 30, 2017 3 0 0 #13 Ryankicker, Aug 30, 2017 See my previous reply, the game does that already. Give it 48 hrs and if he doesn't take his turn he will go into defenless mode and you can beat him up. And it feels so good ! Ha ha ha : pheriannath Well-Known Member Jun 9, 2012 99 2 8 #14 pheriannath, Aug 30, 2017 Oh, that's really good to know - I was afraid my fights were doomed to some kind of torturous eternal version of ragequit. Thanks for easing my mind! Artfoundry Well-Known Member May 11, 2009 2,519 2 38 COO and Creative Director at LCD Dreams, Inc. Bay area, CA #15 Artfoundry, Aug 30, 2017 Actually I started out fast. After that didn't work a number of times, I slowed down. That helped a bit, allowing me to get more precise, but too slow and you fail as well. I tried probably 20 times and succeeded maybe a third of those. I don't mind difficulty - what I mind is that there's no feedback as to what I'm doing wrong. The path looks plenty wide, but I have a feeling that the path your finger needs to follow isn't nearly that wide. I'm just not into playing guessing games with my games. Too many other great games to play. Thanks for the suggestion though. And really, really, REALLY unique. I’ve never played anything that resembles it. Tactical and skill-based, accessible (once you figure out the swipe patterns and cadence) but decidely in-depth, rich with content but also with a large and flexible design space for future expansion and shelf-life. And the wealth of customization (your fighting deck, character skills, appearance, outfits, even custom taunts with tailored facial expressions and custom voice line combinations) and progression elements are legion. Add to that async multiplayer (and even async coop versus the AI!), for one of the most fully-featured indie game launches I’ve seen for the platform. Remains to be seen how the f2p mechanics will influence PvP. With that in mind, give us integrated tournaments and other esport-like modes and I’m a lifer. pheriannath Well-Known Member Jun 9, 2012 99 2 8 #17 pheriannath, Aug 31, 2017 ^This, very much. Though I wish they would allow upper-body outfits, even if it means covering up your cuts and bruises. Also I seem to go bald again every time I do my victory air punch (and some other sprites still default to bald). "You are already dead." has become my mainstay taunt (then I just pretend I'm using the Hokuto Shinken).
