Our AppGratis experience was awesome. We reached the #5 app in the US, and #1 in France, Brazil and a few others. We got around 400k downloads the day of the promotion.

Since, we've had a relatively quick and steady decline. Just recently we've eased back to a normal clip – about two weeks later.

Did you have to pay/promise percent of earning for appgratis? If so was it worth it?

Gratz on the success of your game! One suggestion for additional marketing as your game is now out and the next important thing is to keep your players playing it through continuous updates...how about letting your players do their own trailers of their own gameplay from your game (that they seem to like according to reviews!) and show these videos to their friends on social networks?

As biased as I am (since this is a product we do), its free, easy to integrate and really lightweight.

This is a pretty easy way to get the word of your game out and show how its played in the same time.

    Thanks

Thanks for starting this thread and thanks for everyone who has contributed ideas, we're going through this part of the process now, the "after the game is launched" phase, and many of the ideas and experiences shared here are helpful.

You're welcome. Happy it helped. We definitely appreciate everyone's input as well. It's not easy to be successful in today's market.

This is all awesome info! Let us know how the "after the launch" part goes. I am about to release my first game soon and I will let you know how what I did worked out as well. It definitely isn't easy to be seen in this massive app pool that is out there without a huge marketing budget.
