Any time that you're driving, be sure to have Marco Popo running, so that you can mark or see cops in your area. The bigger the network, the more accurate. Be sure to let all your friends know. Please allow 15-20 seconds for marco popo to start up and zoom in on your location. 1. One finger tap zooms in 2. Two finger tap zooms out 3. Swipe finger to move around 4. Your position is always centered, to move around, hold your finger on the screen or make sure your location is off the map. That way it will not recenter. 5. Popo is shown in a 10 mile radius. RULES OF MARKING A POPO: 1. Mark popo only when you see them still, especially when they are hiding. 2. Try to be as close as possible to a popo when you mark him. 3. Please make one mark only, it takes 5-60 seconds for the mark to appear, but it's there, do not double mark. 4. Red Pin - Popo was marked within 30 minutes. Green Pin - Popo was marked within 1 hour. 5. If there is a popo that has been marked and the pin is green, then please mark again. Otherwise, do not double mark. 6. Marco popo slows down over edge just like google maps and will not retrieve popo marks if there is no internet connection. 7. I just realized not a lot of my friends have iPhones lol.
This app is unusual, to say the least. I think you might end up with some publicity due to its unusual nature. I'm grabbing it now for myself. If it gets really popular, I could see some potential problems in the future. While we can argue about the merits of avoiding speeding tickets, people can also potentially use the network for more unscrupulous activities. What I'd be concerned about would be rare, but here's a scenario: Someone marks a policeman. Someone else who's just lost their job or wife or whatever then uses the network to attack said police officer. Can the police legally charge whoever marked the policeman with aiding and or abetting the crime? My initial thought would be 'no'. So a question for the dev - are all marks anonymous, or does the server contain information about who marked a particular officer?
I see your point but do not agree with what you are saying. If a maniac wanted to hurt someone like a cop, he does not need this app to help him find one. As far as info on the people that make the marks, I do not take any personal info from their phones, so there isn't a way to find out who made the mark, at least not from my end. MasterChief I really like Trapster but it has many issues. The main one is that it has so many features that it makes it slow to use. The other thing is that their traps are set and stay there. When I open the app, I see a trap every .1 to .3 miles in every direction, so what's the point. Drive safe 24/7 and you would not need Trapster or Marco Popo. Marco Popo only has live cop locations, not set traps that stay there. The bigger the network, the more precise and accurate it will become. There are many uses for Marco Popo but imagine taking a road trip and you're on the highway, you check Marco Popo, you see that a trooper was marked a mile ahead, you can be more cautious making sure you are not speeding.
