We're two indie devs and a growing community of manyzens inventing a whole universe together... with total freedom to shape every pixel in it, including your houses, oceans, bodies, vehicles and everything you see! Love to see you in the world and hear your thoughts, as we constantly update things with new features and optimizations. I'm loving this! But really laggy unfortunately which is why it warns a good connection is needed of course.. But I do have adsl broadband.. But Aussie broadband is much slower than that fancy USA broadband.. Love the game nonetheless ..still getting a hang of it but it's a brilliant concept!
It's properly multiplayer too. I had once person ask if I was a chick ( I think she was a newbie helper though so that's fine), I had one person invite me to help them build, and I had one person abusing me for zero reason. I think there's a word filter though because they just got even more irate after that I really like the concept of wandering around collecting copies of blocks that you like, then going to build something of your own with them. There's some people that are good enough to make their own pixel art, but I'm not so I can just borrow what I find
Snozberry, this is interesting feedback, thanks, could you please tell me which generation iPad you have? We had good results testing with iPad 2 and e.g. iPad Air, but I had some refresh rate issues with iPad 3 unfortunately (being the first with Retina). Certain types of lags are dependent on the connection, other types of lags may indicate iPad generation issues. We hope to continue optimize in the future! If you have a desktop with Chrome, also try to join at manyland.com to see if the lag disappears. Snotty, glad you like it! There's SO much to do and discover... building item throwers, mounting vehicles, using portals, and much more! If you have any issues upranking to 5 (which is when you can start using everything), please let me know at [email protected]
iPad mini running iOS 7, not JB. Closed all the multitasking tabs too.. Possibly my Internet.. But I play other MMOs without problems..so I'm not sure.. Might try it on my computer at some point.. I didn't know that was an option.
Thanks Snozberry! I'll be with my iPad Mini testing device on January 3rd and will investigate! Sorry for this!

I love coming across little wonderlands tucked away in places you thought you were first to discover. It's running a lot better now, it's still slightly slow at some points, for example, when encountering crumbling blocks, music blocks, and snow was extremely laggy, but just walking around encountering normal objects is fine, it's probably just my connection.. Respawning can be painful.. Usually taking around 30-40 seconds, sometimes up to a minute.ill have to look into ordering a filter because I think this game is going to end up my new addiction! That's so respectable of you! Looking forward to watching the game grow.. This is so great to hear! We may need to disable music blocks for the time being... I'll do some more testing soon. Takes a while to get used to it but I love that aspect of figuring everything out.. Still got a long way to go! But maybe you can help me a little with these questions? How do people make sprites without putting dots on the border? I've seen it done but not sure if they are just using dots the same colour as the background.. Is there anyway we could get an invisible 0% opacity colour to draw along the border so we don't need dots? I haven't really made much pixel art yet, but it plan to very soon..hopefully after I increase my rank so I unlock more block types. (Ignore my silly cat XD.. It's so funny how many different cats are around the place.. I decided to start collecting them all like Pokemon) it'd be pretty fun if sometime in the future we must go on scavenger hunts to find certain objects to check off our list..I guess users could create that game themselves though with signs and bases) And also, I see people talking about edits and I can't seem to edit/recolour pre existing sprites.. But I see others than have, is this something that's not available on iOS yet? Or has this feature been removed due to people complaining about theft.. (But I thought the credit would still go to the original creator?) thanks, and cheers for the email addy, I feel like I've been stuck on rank toe forever, but I don't know if increasing rank is a short term thing, or long term..so is hall keep playing and see what happens.. thanks again. We have an iPhone version technically ready, but for chat when the keyboard overlays a lot, or when you want to draw, the screen gets a bit dense. Perhaps there is a way to split of a small-screen version where one can do everything that works on smaller screens. > I see thousands of people online but barely come across > anyone.. Please click the Meet button in the bottom left: this will pop up a guiding arrow that takes you to the green mountain, the center area of that outer ring location in the universe. We often hang out there and do group chats and you can meet others to build together or come up with games. In a group things are even more fun! Once you're in center, make a snapshot using the bottom left menu. This way you can later transport there in an instant. (Well, except for your 30-40 seconds loading time. Sorry for that!) Also, feel free to email me and tell me your in-world name so I can pop up near you when I see you online. ([email protected]) > How do people make sprites without putting dots on the border? > I've seen it done but not sure if they are just using dots the same > colour as the background.. Once you hit rank 5, the top rank for a full manyzen, you don't need to touch the border for several types. As a workaround, you can try to draw the border dots with some transparency (pick from the menu when a color is selected), but yeah that's just a workaround (as the border requirement is meant to avoid confusion for types like solids, which when not fully drawn would have people "bump into invisible barriers"). > Is there anyway we could get an invisible 0% opacity colour to draw along the border so we don't need dots? Ah, see above You can get down to 25% opacity. But once you reach rank 5 the border requirement is loosened a lot... > I haven't really made much pixel art yet, but it plan to very soon..hopefully after I increase my rank so I unlock more block > types. (Ignore my silly cat XD.. It's so funny how many different > cats are around the place.. I decided to start collecting them all like Pokemon) That's excellent! We also plan on a new type named Holder (think container/ folder) for early 2014, where you could put sets like cats in one place in your panel (or in a container which you place in a house). Search is unlocked too at a higher rank allowing you to find e.g. anything named "cat". > it'd be pretty fun if sometime in the future we must go on scavenger > hunts to find certain objects to check off our list..I guess users > could create that game themselves though with signs and bases) This is a very good point, we do hope for such things to emerge, and try to provide the right tools for all of you to take it away to create such quests. For starters, you can already get a list of the first 3 persons to have picked up a certain thing (long-tap something, then click the bottom-left number appearing to find the list). We also have some new ideas planned for 2014 to help even more with such quests (like the ability for everyone to create talking beings who guide others towards places and have needs)! > And also, I see people talking about edits and I can't seem > to edit/recolour pre existing sprites.. Please try this: drag your existing creation over the Create button! This should open the creator with the creation. You can then save and create a new one (and delete the old creation by double-tapping it in your panel, provided it's not placed in the world or collected by someone yet). This only works with your own creations, though. We thought a lot about ways to clone other people's creation while keeping the credit system in-tact (like showing an evolution of images), but for the moment the current system seems to work quite good -- you can get inspired by other people's creations (when using the browser version at manyland.com, even pick a color from the world around) but no one can clone something you spend time on and have their name be associated with the cloned version instantly (and if the old creator name was kept, it could cause problems too as the new version might not be something the original creator may want to be associated with). We'll keep this whole aspect on the radar in the future. > thanks, and cheers for the email addy, I feel like I've been stuck > on rank toe forever, but I don't know if increasing rank is a > short term thing, or long term.. So I think if you come to center-ish and talk to us, you'll gain upvotes by others, this should have you rank up very quickly! At rank 5 you can also enter the inner ring of the universe. > Such a brilliant game! I love how it promotes art, and > inspires people to get creative.. Better than all of that mindless garbage out there! Thanks so much for being there! We want a world where the only challenge is your creativity, which is really limitless. A world without currency, where things are available in abundance. A post-scarcity world, and in a way, a post-enemies world... asking the question what we can do if we're not constantly occupied by slashing monsters or planting crops! (Though we definitely plan for more ways to bring both monsters and planting -- and mixing -- into the world for 2014, but always in ways where you can do these things voluntarily, limitless and based on your imagination.) The great thing about this is that it makes everything truly unpredictable, because there's no single person defining what this world is for others, no predefined quests, goals, themes, or games. We all have to figure it out together and truly "invent a universe". That also means we all learn a lot on the way, too. That's why every great manyzen in the world (like you, who gets the spirit!) can make a HUGE difference. We got some people who've put over 100,000 blocks, from huge orc lands to racing tracks to arenas with totally new team games (have a look at some of these zoom outs) ! Great you're there and keep giving feedback, we'll tune and update the tools to support this and bring in new blocks along the way! slamraman Well-Known Member Patreon Gold Aug 27, 2011 2,511 8 38 #16 slamraman, Dec 30, 2013 Hey there - I stuck this on son's iPad but it asked for him to login with google or Facebook. I'm so sorry you had to write such a long explanation, but I understand the game so much better now! You should include that post in an FAQ section in the game, it's very helpful! I'm so glad I can travel through photographs.. I had taken some earlier on, but I thought it was just a decorative thing, didn't know you can travel through them, or how, but I see now, thank goodness, because I was 9k away from the meet! And literally in the middle of nowhere.. I originally thought you could travel to the inner circle so.. That's what I was attempting to do..but instead I got lost in infinite land! I warped through an old photo and was only 700m away so that was perfect.. I came across a few people, and some gorgeous artwork! It's a shame there is no way to lock the artwork cause I can imagine some griefers would be in their element deleting all the stuff in the main area. What a wonderful game! Even more in love with it now! And that makes perfect sense about the borders.. It would seem glitchy if you were standing on air, so it makes perfect sense.. I will just hang in the main area until I rank up.. Thank you so much for your advice. Also makes sense about edits, I had seen a bunch of recolours done, and I now realise the original creator must have created the recolours. So I guess "no edits" must of meant they didn't want people moving their furniture around or whatever.. I've placed a few cats in some random house.. Whoops.. Well, I have learnt some manners now and will only build on my own turf.. I love your idea about showing all the different edits of a certain sprite, like watching it evolve, but I also understand the possible implications.. I watched some tutorials on YouTube and saw that when you create a moving object, it allows you to trace your previous sprite, and I was wondering if we would ever have the option to trace off an uploaded image? That would make it so much easier! But then people could steal people's art, which would suck actually, so scrap that idea.. Will there ever be an option to drawn on bigger canvases? I was surprised when I picked up a pink car in the mountables shop and it stayed connected in one piece.. I assumed you devs had something to do with it ? But It'd be sweet if we could do that too. I'll go have a play and see how it runs without the music blocks..I think the snow was most laggy for me.might be able to take a video if you want? I have that "record screen" web app from the GBA4ios guy..but it doesn't work properly on the mini, part of the screen cuts off, but you could still get a fair gist of it. EDIT- Ugh, just learnt that it no longer works since I updated to iOS 7.. They are currently in the midst of releasing a new version to support iOS 7.. Bummer. Could record it manually with my iPhone though. Ps- that's a bummer about the bugs in the iPhone version, but don't give up, sooo many gamers use iPhone only, especially here on TA..it's crazy..I can't even begin to fathom the frustration of gaming on such a small screen..but they do, I remember seeing art made on the iPhone version of pixowls "the sandbox" and they were amazingly intricate designs, so I'm sure they will quite easily make great works of art on your app too! You can create a new Google account here: https://accounts.google.com/SignUp We originally intended this so you don't have to register yet another account, yet have one Manyland account even when you change devices, but we understand the issue and will think this through again in the future!
(We added an update that disables the sounds of music blocks for now to help with the lags they caused. Note you don't need to install any update, just reopen the app, as it runs live.)
No probs - I'll let him sit it out just now. I de-registered his google account in the summer as he would set up forums for everything and I don't need one. Not one for Facebook either but hopefully I'm in the minority. Good luck with it all, though.
Thank you so much!
