Random comics/manga thread. What kind of manga do you guys like to read? I recently finished "Arcana Soul" and "Battle Royale". As for comics, I recently read "Lex Luthor: Man of Steel". Currently: reading through Hellblazer, from the very beginning. I want to get through all 270+ issues eventually.
Manga? Oh I think nowadays movies and soaps have already taken place of manga....sorry but i am not a fan of manga and comics...
I'll agree that paper media is not thriving as much as it once was, but to act like it's already been completely replaced is a bit silly.
On the contrary...both the manga and comics markets are still going strong. They are especially valuable because they don't suffer from as much censorship as traditional media. Comics and Manga tend to be a lot more daring in terms of content and execution than TV or film.
judging by your username, if you've been to singapore, you'll know that manga is still going strong there. every bookstore has a manga section.
Calvin & Hobbes is badass. I like the old classics too like the Peanuts and Garfield strips, and the Asterix and Tintin books. Not quite comics exactly, but basically the same
Tintin is awesome. I haven't read them for ages but they were class. I like Morning Glories now. It's really good.
It does look good, but I can't get over the fact it's very similarly titled to a web comic that focuses on racism, sexism, murder, rape, paedophilia and just about anything else that will offend people.
I finished the Death Note series a few months ago. BEST MANGA EVER! Loved the ending. Actually, let me take that back. I loved the beginning, the end, and EVERYTHING in between. I also manage a Simpson's Comics collection. Seems like it will never end. I have probably close to 50-75 right now, including the super awesome Simpson's-Futurama Crossover Crisis book and the 1,200 page Simpson's World book that I will probably never finish. I'm also the proud owner of Simpson's Comic #1! Gotta love The Simpson's!
