even though this is the pocket edition forum (iphone) it "has become" THE forum, so both iphone and ipad folks post here. tricket (the dev) i'm sure will answer you but i seem to recall it has already been stated why pinch and zoom won't be implemented for the iphone. for ipad, of course, it isn't needed.

What Mack is referring to is that we originally tried the iPhone version in 4 ways: 1) Always zoomed in, with mini-map; 2) Always zoomed fully-out, no need for mini-map; 3) Zoomed in, with pinch-to-zoom; 4) Zoomed in, with the "tap to zoom out, but pause the game" (like it is now) What we found was that everyone, ourselves included, always wanted the pinch-to-zoom ... but basically, once we had it, we (and all of our testers) would just play the whole game completely zoomed out, like Option #2. Which would be fine ... except that then we found ourselves get ticked off at the game because we'd tap to put down defenders, or summon fire, or whatever, and it would be off by a bit and totally miss ... and we'd grind our teeth and curse the game. And we found ourselves saying, "gee, the graphics are really not that good, and they're tiny," even though obviously that was just because we were zoomed out. And after a week of having people try it like that, we found that everyone (ourselves included) gave the game a lower overall rating than when we didn't have it. So ... not saying that our final #4 choice was the best, or that we won't try out the pinch-to-zoom again in the future. But that's why it's not in right now, when it totally does seem like an obvious addition!
I thought iphone update would be out by now? Any chance soon? Hard to wait for something you enjoy so much...this game!
The delay is totally our fault -- we found a fix to reduce memory more (and thus crash less), and it cascaded into a bunch of other things that delayed stuff. We finally got the build submitted to Apple late last week, so hopefully by late *this* week it should show up! The one good thing about the delay is that it let me get the gem doubler in that people have kept asking for. It still should be totally unneeded (we've tried to make sure the balance of gems stays high so you never need to buy extra), but for people who like to make a one-time purchase to speed things up, it'll make getting new cards (or getting more deck space) a bunch faster.
Testing Video Sharing Hey, all! I wanted to give you guys a heads up about a new feature we're testing. We're looking to add video recording technology from Kamcord. The way it works is that when you finish a level, along with the "Continue" button, there would be a "Share!" button. From there, you could watch the replay of your current level, and choose to share it on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, or via e-mail. The Kamcord interface lets you "like" the videos, or comment on them, or whatever. From the main map area, there would also be some sort of "Community Videos" button that would let you browse through submitted maps. In particular, you could look for, say, the level "Stringy Bits" to see how people had managed to complete it. Anyway, thought I'd get your feedback on it. Update Love the game, thanks Tom for bringing us such an awesome TD. I have a long flight tomorrow night so i'm holding out hope 1.3 is released tomorrow!

Hi Everyone, Great game and I have been playing nonstop the last three days. I had to restart my game three times until I was able to figure out the cards, and reading this forum helped. For me anyway, trying to figure out everything about the cards made the game much more appealing and interesting. Anyways, I do hope guys that you do really well and continue to develop this game and make more awesome titles. Here is a suggestion and a GUI glitch I think. Ok, maybe the tree on the right is ok, but the tower on the lift is not Suggestion: Every now and then when I receive new cards what I do is go to the card selection screen and manually pull down all the cards so that I can merge/sell them. It would help if there was a sort of one click button for that, or, maybe you can make the interface different to avoid this exercise completely. For the glitch please find my screenshot attached to the post.

Sorry you had to restart your game due to card issues -- we're actually looking at using the in-game video stuff that I mentioned above to create some mini visual tutorials, as well, to help explain things like here in the forums, but right when you're in the game. I'll look at making an easier system for selling/merging all the cards, since yeah, it does come up sometimes. And thanks for the UI glitch stuff -- the tree is "mostly" right, but its shadow does look weird there, and that's definitely strange with the tower managing to slide under the rock arch! I'll tweak the settings there to make it less weird.
The dreaded Free campaign! Hey, everyone! Well, we knew it might happen -- we're running one of those "FreeAppADay" style campaigns for Man at Arms (starts officially tomorrow, but may show up earlier depending on Apple servers). If you've paid money to buy the game recently, and feel ticked off about this, if you use the little e-mail icon from the top left of the main account screen, I'll be able to send you a batch of gems to at least make up for the cost that you've paid. And my apologies for doing a free campaign at all .. much as we love the reception you guys have given the game here on the forums, we're just not getting enough sales to pay our rent, so it's kind of this or nothing.
We're focusing on the iPad version (it's the one we like best, honestly, just due to the extra screen real estate), but we're putting the iPhone version free as well -- same philosophy that we don't want people to have to pay for the game twice. Or, I guess, in this case, *not* pay for the game, if they get one version for free. Anyway, thanks for the condolences -- hopefully this'll help kickstart some attention again and make us zillionaires! ;-)
The problem we found with Game Center achievements is that they're tied to the GC account, rather than any sub-accounts. We had a bunch of testers who would make individual saves for different family members, and didn't want the achievements to cross over. Still, we can do a combo in a future update: the game shows the achievements as separate, but we could still also award them (once per account) for Game Center, if people are interested.
Please don't worry about it, the amount of fun and thought I've had with this game far outweigh the little inconveniences Thanks a lot for giving this to us!
Hey, everyone, Looks like the iPhone v1.3 (we skipped 1.2 numbering to more closely match the iPad version) has been approved. It may show up in the App Store for you immediately, or it may be delayed a few hours, but it should be soon! Meanwhile, we're hoping (but not confident) to submit the next iPad patch later today. In addition to the video sharing stuff, we're also trying to put in a proper in-game levels-sharing system. That way, instead of having to e-mail someone and go to an external website, you can just grab user-created levels from the Tom's Travel Agency area.
Sorry if i sound rude but why does the app icon havent changed yet? I mean the app icon doesnt compliment how great the game is seriously it doesnt make any sense..sorry for that i know its just a small issue but i think it should be where all the sales should start First of all it should be catchy to the eyes of the ios gamers..and thats a good sign if the app icon will make gamers curious about the game and sales starts at curiosity..people looking for a game will first notice the app icon before the name of the game and sometimes if the icon doesnt interest people it will just be skipped and will not be a given a chance to be introduced So my only request is the app icon should reflect the awesomeness of the game..i hope you guys reconsider this.. A footman drinking a mug of beer with bloodspills doesnt tell us people that this is a tower defense game..a very well polished worth buying gem/game
