Will this be coming to the iPhone in the near future? I just picked up the iPad version(backwards I know but you guys deserve it!) and the first thing I noticed was a green card drop, and on my iPhone I've only ever gotten white. Also, what I was saying earlier about deck points going missing, it did happen before the update but hasn't happened since. I do remember having some orange cards with deck costs the same as regular whites which seems to have changed so maybe it was fixing itself already.
Yep ... eventually we'll try to unify the iPad and iPhone features more closely than they are now. But for now, we'll first release the iPad version with all the fixes and such, and then release a 1.2 iPhone version as soon as we can after that. For the costs -- yeah, I think Shaymon was seeing a similar thing, where sometimes what should be a more expensive enhanced card is showing up with a white-level deck cost ... which causes problems if you put it in your active deck, and then next time around it recalculates the proper value! I don't think I've tracked that one down yet, and still need to find it.
Awesome! Thanks for the quick reply and the great game. Now if I could get this on my desktop I would be in heaven...
What day is it today? Wednesday, that's right! Hope that ipad patch lands! Btw, love the black cards and other new changes coming
Thanks! We're actually looking to do a Mac port when we have time; the main issue is dealing with the 10,000 different issues in how touch-vs-mouse works.
Ohhhh so that means still a few days for release? Has to be approved and such? I must have read things wrong
yup, he said they hoped to get it out today and then Apple diddles with it for a week. so, next Wed. if they stop their mucking in time
Yep, that. But in the meantime, anyone who's playing on the iPhone version at all, v1.1 did go live, and you can try it and see if it's any less crash-prone for you!
I updated the game today, and I played the first 4 levels without one crash. One of my fav TD games, and trust me I've tried almost all of em. Thank you for your hard work.
Could someone please confirm or deny that you can get barracks after level 2 with an archer or mage on top? I think I may be hunting unicorns here!
so one the phone, does the new update fix the combine bug (cap at orange?) If so, I'm going to play more; if not, I want to wait for the next update.
Thanks, bizzy! You guys have all been great here, both at making us happy that we're making a game people enjoy, and with helping find bugs and figure out balance issues!
It's in the iPhone v1.1 version, but won't show up in the iPad version until this one (v1.3) goes live.
The phone update fixes some numbers balance stuff that was keeping the cards low, but it doesn't fix the biggest issue that was creating the issue. So for that, the iPad version will get fixed with this release, and then we'll do the iPhone one that has it a few days later. Sorry for the delay on it!
Have you guys managed to make any money out of this game yet? I seriously hope so as this sits (dare I say) slightly above KR/KR2 (with an honourable mention to Tower Defence Pirates in fourth) and i would love to see this supported for a long time yet! btw You may want to consider moving the 'next phase' flags off the paths on a number of maps. Some maps allow you to start attacking at the spawn point for the phase flag, so you click to pick up a gem and end up with another phase of baddies!
Yeah I also hope this has been a successful endevour by the devs because this really has the longevity that KR lacks. I love the slight randomness of the combining of cards as it can cause you to have to rethink your deck and whole strategy. I started with the iPhone version and recently picked up the iPad one; I haven't tried out the MP/level editor yet but I can tell that is what will keep me coming back for quite some time. This is actually the game that made me upgrade my phone to IOS7 a week ago(which I HATE btw) but it was totally worth it.
Thanks, guys! We really like the game, and hope it's financially successful as well! Right now it's at the "beer and pizza" level. Well, it's better than that; it'd buy a lot of beer and pizza each day. But it's not up to "paying our mortgage" level yet, which is where it needs to be eventually. Hopefully we can get it there, though -- the iPad version in particular is sitting at a very solid 5-star ranking. The iPhone version is lower, due mainly to the crashes that version 1.0 had; hopefully now that v1.1 is out, that'll rise as well! I'm right there with you on iOS 7 -- we've been using iPhones for years now, and ... we just haven't managed to drink the Kool-Aid on iOS 7. We're ... enduring it, rather than enjoying it.
That is a very good point! I should also make sure that things like tapping for gems, or building upgrades, always get slurped up before the "next wave!" buttons do. Also, do let us know when you come across things like that ... like, I discovered the other day that somewhere on level 4 or 5, I think, there's just this big rock sitting partially on the path ... clearly a mistake that got left behind during a level edit. As you can imagine, we play these levels hundreds of times over, and it's one of those things where you stop seeing things after a while .. your eyes just skip right over the mistakes.
