Yeah, buying and selling common defensive cards is not profitable. However, the slight loss isn't that big of a deal and you can certainly farm up money cards that way.

I got an orange 30% more money from drops card to go along with the 30% more start money I already had (also orange)

Presumably you could also farm up other stuff this way to systematically improve in any area, although I agree money probably makes the most difference.

I've massively increased my number of cards and earned gems by buying common defensive cards, selling the ones I don't want, keeping the good ones and selling any cards I already had that are replaced by the ones I just bought.

It's a rather slow way to earn gems, but I'm early in the game and didn't have any gems to start with and didn't have many cards so it's really helped me. I suspected it is not intended to work like this though.

Edit: I just counted up the gems earned from selling four lots of common defensive cards: 357, 461, 352, 365. I know four isn't much of a sample size but I can't be bothered to count up any more!
350 seems a better cost for the 3 common defensive cards pack?

I have the same results. I did it for a while last night and definitely gained. Even while keeping cards I want, I still stay ahead.

Can you screen shot one and post it here? How have I not seen any. I have seen about 10+ yellow cards but none towers...

Yeah, we found that, also -- the numbers have been tweaked for the next release of the game, so use it before it's fixed, if you want! ;-)

It's also because the ranges of the colors are pretty high ... I think they each cover a 500 "point" range ... so if you started with "low level" oranges, it might have generated a high-level orange result.

But yeah, it's certainly not common -- it's also possible that for whatever reason, it kept trying to add bonuses to the final card, but couldn't (if it was a card that just didn't apply to the various bonuses). Any idea what the resulting card was?

They should exist, although, yeah, they'll be rare. I'll do a test to make sure we didn't mess anything up, though -- I'll have the system generate 1,000 cards, or something, and make sure the higher levels tower cards are properly generating.

Also, for the next patch, we're also going to try to make some other low-level variations (similar to the barracks-with-archer-on-top, or catapult-with-conscript) ... they won't be hugely powerful, but they should add a bit of variation and help if you have certain strategies you're looking to do.

I'll have to check, but it may also be a difference between the iPad version and iPhone version right now: we fixed it in at least one area, but I can't remember when the patch went out -- if it's live in neither, one of them, or both. :)

I'm so sad, merge all my level 3 catapult, in hopes of getting a good one, and turned into a crappy dragon cannon (i already have an awesome one). So had to farm for a level 3 catapult otherwise I won't be able to play. No luck after a few 300 gem packs.

Due to my desperation, I sold all my offensive cards just so I can continue to play. :(

How I wish merging 4 of the same cards will yield the same card with better specs.

Got a purple 4 redshirts card. Wanted a green or orange redshirts card, only had white...I'll be able to afford using the purple....um, never? Currently have 1500 deck space, can't spent 300 on a single redshirt card.

Its a good card, but the cost is very hard!

Battle master was given after I repeated the level again.

Crashes was dealt with by turning off and on my iPhone 4S.

    Hope this helps.

Doh! You should have kept one.... ;( sometimes I wish the same but then again, it adds to the replay value this way as it's harder to get every card you need. Although, maybe an option to do so for a cost? Like a special currency card that can drop. You combine that card with 4 of the same and it guarantees the same card. Make it kind of rare and maybe even purchaseable with gems (750+)

Just got orange artillery cost reduction -- 32% less. Costs 272 deck space though!

Where are you guys farming gems? It doesn't seem to make too much difference that I can see. Any level where you can see all the monsters die and get all the chests.

I've never had any card other than white drop anywhere.

Farm the later levels for better cards. Although I am pretty sure I have had orange cards drop on the first chapter on master.

For gems, I farm the first levels. They all seem to drop the same amount but zigzag has dropped a few more for me. Probably just luck. Pick whatever level you can easily clear while advancing the waves as soon as you can. You need to run on master as well as mobs come faster netting you more gems.

As far as missing gem chests, the gems you miss will be added to the next chest that drops so if a chest drops off screen, no biggie. The only time that would be an issue is if a chest dropped of the screen at the end and then disappeared right as the level ended. Otherwise if you have a chest on the ground and the level ends, I'm pretty sure the game picks it up for you.

Yeah that is a high cost for that card. I'd rather put in a moneybags ;)
