I think I'm going to have to put this down for now until the crashing issues are fixed.... I'm getting a lot of them now (luckily not mid game or anything), and I can't even get the backtracking level to start at all....

finished the game on master with basically just the phoenix tower and a lvl 4 deagon catapult and some cards that reduce buildprice and start money. makes me able to upgrade the catapult on wave 1 on most games and kinda instawin. maybe you should balance that a bit:) gonna start a offensive deck now. btw dope game!;)

Just got a lvl 2 outpost with phoenix, says it can be built from any level outpost, so I'm not exactly sure what this is or if its the awesome sauce thing you guys are talking about.

One thing I wondered about, the 4 redshirt card seems inferior to 2x2 redshirt cards. Unless the 4x cards redshirts are tougher, or unless there is a limit to how many cards with timers you can have running.

Somehow accidentally sold my level 1 mage tower which is an annoyance!

Oh, and I'm still getting mysterious help via arrows or bolts from nowhere that do damage to the enemy. From nowhere, before I even build anything. On multiple maps, and after resets.

You can build it from any level Archer Outpost, cheap effective aerial support. Must have in later levels.

For the phoenix tower, what Canthar said -- they're a cheap, air-only defense that you can build from any existing archer tower.

For the redshirts -- they come in 2, 3, or 4 right now. Which one is better depends partly on what bonuses the card has (like, if you managed to get a 4-guys that had the same cooldown as a 2-guys, it'd obviously be better), and partly on your strategy: are you aiming for frequent guys you can put down at any point, or larger groups to body slam an opponent, etc. :)

Oh, if you want to get rid of the arrows (maybe you don't, of course) if you exist out of the game, and then do the "flick into nowhere" iOS behavior to completely terminate the app, they should be gone when it restarts.

The crashing is something I'm working on right now -- I'm about 90% convinced it's a memory issue, and shows up on some phones when you are transitioning from one scene to another (because you get all the memory use for scene A + scene B for a short moment). Hopefully we'll track it down quickly!

:) When we can, we're hoping to put out more "prestiege" levels for people who have learned to totally kick the game's butt. Bigger rewards, with tougher challenges. We'll also put in more of the more difficult accomplishments (also with reasonable gem rewards if you do complete them).

Nice! That's about ... 3 levels from the end, I think.

(Which brings up the fact that I need to apologize again to you guys for the existing version not having a good ending ... coming in patch, along with added levels!)

Just finished it and it does end rather abruptly. I would like to see some challenges that reward special cards possibly?

Absolutely. We have a bunch of monsters that didn't make it into the release (undead drakes, ember ravens, gruff mages, and other guys), along with some levels that weren't quite ready for prime-time. We're also trying to get the next set of cards and spells ready ... hopefully you guys'll like it all! :)

One pretty easy thing that is important to me is different color stars for levels you cleared at the various difficulties. I have a hard time motivating to do the higher difficulties (beyond normal anyway) unless there is a visual display of what I've done.

The flag changes to a blue flag when you've done a level on the master setting.

Although the normal and easy modes show the same display for their stars, anything you complete on Master difficulty right now shows up with a different completed visual: it's a black-and-blue flag with a ram skull on the top, instead of the red-and-white flag for normal completion.

Here's a screenshot from my "Airsun" account with some of each.

Update: Whoops, what he said. :)

I'm really loving the game. I love the similarities to KR and the fun with the cards. Also - thanks for all the tips from tricket!

I do have one small complaint. I find the fonts are way too small, especially the card descriptions. I'm playing on an iPad and an iPad mini and I can barely read them. I have old guy eyes, but it seems like there's plenty of screen space available to make the font bigger - or have it such that you can tap to 'get more info' and it uses the entire back of the card instead of the small section under the graphic.

I'm also facing a few crashes and like you said, it seems to be when switching between menu. I'll wait the patch to play more. Look really interesting though!

Thanks! Glad you like the game! I do have to admit that man, our fonts can get tiny. There was an issue of sizing stuff -- if we make the font truly scalable at any point, it got memory intensive, so instead we have a few snapshots (at 8 points, 12, 18, etc.). That means it's harder to properly make the text always "just as large as possible, without overflowing" as we'd like. But yeah -- some of that text makes it feel like we should ship the game with a magnifying glass, doesn't it? :)

Thanks, and yay! It makes us very happy indeed, because TouchArcade is an unbiased review site -- it's not like we slipped somebody a stack of bucks under the table. :) So getting a 4-of-5 review here makes us happy and proud. :)
