that's pretty much what I just asked. In iTunes it just says "Optimizations; Bug Fixes" Thankfully, for the first time in a while, Optimizations; Bug Fixes does NOT mean the addition of ADS.
haha... yeah, I kept a backup of the previous version on my PC before updating on my idevice - but no - no ads or added IAPs.
yes, there are bosses. - at the end of each world, and a couple of mini-boss type of enemies throughout the game.
What?! Wow. You people need to put more faith in me/us. If we added IAPs, I would have said that in the "What's new in this version." No, this update really was just some little fixes, optimizations and getting down under the 20MB cell download limit. That is it. You can update without worry. As long as I'm working at Adult Swim and have a say in it we would not do that to you.
Here's what we changed in the update in more detail: Bug fixes and Optimisations: - Major Mayhem is under 20MBs - Jumpy framerate at the start of the game reduced somewhat but not totally gone. - Level select menu performance increased. - The Major can no longer get stuck when jumping at specific places like the water tower on the first city level and the presidents office door. Do note though that we did have to remove the special music track on the 11th Desert level to help get the game under 20MBs. I was very sad removing this We've learned our lesson, we'll be more specific with update notes in future *Edit* Oh I see SwimCeej already commented
It's really nothing against you - we've just been screwed over WAY too many times with updates saying it's "bug fixes" "optimizations" or "computability issues" and in fact, it's really just the addition of iAds. But it's great to hear that you have every intention of being honest with us. =o)
Thank you very much for listing everything that was fixed/tweaked. Sucks you had to remove a track... maybe you could add it back in by lowering the bitrate of all the music just a tad?
Sadly they are as low as they can go without getting warped. We still have a couple things we can do to reduce the size and possibly squeeze it back in but they involve a lot of work. Also we'd rather, and I'm sure you'd rather us use that space to add achievements
damn... maybe throw the soundtrack up online? Even into iTunes for 99 cents a track or whatever? But yes, I (and I'm sure others) would love to have some achievements! =oD
That's terrible; I had no idea that was a widespread thing. We won't be doing that. And for clarity I have updated the What's New In This Version to what Antony posted here (it'll take awhile for that change to propagate through the iTunes servers).
aww... =o( and the game's done in Unity, so we can't unzip it and snag the mp3s before updating... =oP Oh well... gotta give n take I guess...
If there were more modes; e.g. an endless mode that gets progressively harder, where you're scored by how long you can stay alive, or a time-based mode where you have to rack up points within a set amount of time, I'd be interested in purchasing this title. What I personally look for in iOS games is variety and longevity, and I feel that having only a "story mode" would not keep me interested for too long. Don't take this comment the wrong way, I just thought you might like some feedback from someone seeing your title for the first time
You'll have plenty to do getting 3 medals on every level as well as competing on the leaderboards. We have thought about adding another mode and we might in future. But what that mode is, is totally up in the air at the moment and still a while away in terms of any release date. Thanks for the feedback. Your $1 will help us add new things in future.
Amazing game but why does the game freeze for a split second after each level when you are on the helicopter before you land?
That's the game loading and initialising the next level. I couldn't get rid of the pause completely. In hindsight we probably shouldn't have attempted a seamless transition between levels, it's really hard!
