Just installed this game after TA article on iPhone 5 screen updates. I must say the game is good, Oregon Trail uses same mechanic in one of their mini game, was looking forward to find a game with this concept. The world will know, on my way now to tell friends and 5 star- rate the hell out of this game !!
Yeah it is a good game. Try to unlock the time bomb mode as quick as you can, cause it is as fun as hell. Like an arcade game.
Damnit - I just lost my cloud save! All my progress, unlocks and everything is gone... I have to start from scratch... =oO
Sadly there is no cloud save at all, hence why it wouldn't have restored your progress. iCloud and Google cloud are on the list of features to add when we get working on Major Mayhem again. Hopefully that won't be to far away. We're also planning a full sequel. But again I don't know what the timeline is for that as we are still working hard on Mini Golf MatchUp.
Yeah, thinking about it, I'm sorry... There was no issue... I'm just slightly slow. =oP I could have swore I had data transferred between my iPod and iPad... And then I sold my iPad last month and just figured everything would be on my phone... But now that I'm thinking about it, MM went freemium after I got my iPad, so that's when I purchased everything... Sorry for the misunderstanding on my part...
Nah it's my fault for not implementing iCloud back when we went Freemium. There's been a couple people that have lost progress where iCloud would have saved them... :/ Live and learn I guess.
Very excited for both games coming up. Major Mayhem 2 should do really well-there are very few rail shooters in the app store to begin with. I loved the first one.
So glad to hear a sequel is in the works. This is still one of my all time fav iOS games. I always wondered if this game sold enough to keep working on it or working on a sequel, or if it was gonna be left behind like so many other great games of yore.
Yeah... It definitely wouldn't have been profitable if we didn't change it to freemium, But since then it's done well enough to earn itself a sequel.
That's just crazy how the market is right now. You can put out a full game for a buck and nobody will buy it, but you can put that same game out for free with a bunch of timers, ect. and people will spend 5 bucks on on that very same game on IAPs. Lol, people are crazy I tell you!
I bought it before it went freemium, and dumped another $6 into it after that because of the great conversion, and just how great the game is. This, along with Super Mole Escape and Quadropus Rampage are some of the only freemium titles to get me to purchase consumable coins - even after buying this and SME before their freemium conversions... But it's not that surprising. The game being free to check out, and then ALWAYS having an option for players to support the developer, instead of just throwing down a buck, and then never having the option to give the developer more money for the game SHOULD help to get the developer more money over time.
Yeah that's right. It's always better to have more players even if they don't pay as it helps spread the word. But we still don't convert over 99% of players sadly. This is why ads are probably inevitable for Major Mayhem in future. But we'll try our best to not put ads in for those that already have the app. Like when we gave free coins for people that paid $1.
Coin Doubler is easy to do, The trouble with the coin packs is Apple and Google don't let you check if people have made consumable purchases so there is no what for me to check with 100% accuracy if people have purchased something in the past or not.
That's alright. The first one was good enough to warrant on of my few free game purchases. To be clear I don't really download or play free games, as a rule. I'd gladly throw money down on a coin doubler if there were no ads. To disable them it'd be a no brainer. Hopefully a lot of people will be willing.
The idea with ads is to make it so that it doesn't matter if people are willing or not. Hopefully the money earned from ads viewed by people that aren't willing or are unable to pay equates to roughly the same as the IAP to remove them. Any app you see where they don't let you remove ads is probably because they earn more from ads than an IAP would earn to remove them, or because they are afraid people will find a way to pirate the remove ads purchase.
Hey, Anthony... Just wanted to let you know that I saw this today... They stole your icon... https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/modern-warfare-zone-battle/id701246908?mt=8
Wow... that is shameless... They just murdered that icon! I would have been happier if they just left it as is instead of drawing crap all over it. Now the question of if I bother to get legal onto this... Hahahaha Thanks for pointing it out. Just so you know, I've started new update work for Major Mayhem. Expect more news in the near future
Bumpity Bump Goes The Thread Bumper in the Night. Mr. Anthony Blackett! It's time you updated us on your plans. I am hoping there is still talk of a sequel. That would make me very happy. But, some thoughts thrown your way from my end, based mostly on another game I've played recently, which was Lawless. This game is relevant to Major Mayhem (specifically Major Mayhem 2) since it is basically the same type of gameplay. I saw aspects of Lawless that I think should be applied to MM2 and aspects that definitely should NOT be applied. The attention to detail in Lawless is exactly what I was talking about previously in this thread many months ago. Basically everything in the environment is able to be destroyed. Bullet holes made in walls that remain throughout the course of the board. The entire environment plays into the gameplay. There was even a reward/goal for destroying a certain amount of property. That is what MM2 needs. I really felt connected to the environment in Lawless, since all that added destruction besides just killing the bad guys adds a whole other dimension to the gameplay. Now, as great as that aspect of the game is and as much as I feel MM2 could benefit from it as an example, I am deathly afraid of the Freemium that will almost definitely be a part of MM2. Wait timers have completely taken over as the most obnoxious aspect of Freemium, when really there was no wiggle room for Freemium to get any worse. Major Mayhem walked the line as well as just about any Freemium offering could: the game was still intact, there were no adds or other forms of nagging solicitation and there were definitely no wait timers. Do I like that it had to go Freemium? You know the answer to that. But if I had to pick a list of Freemium games that I am able to play that are able to skirt underneath my annoyance radar, then Major Mayhem would be at the top of the list. I implore you, Anthony, PLEASE do not put wait timers in MM2!!! Did you like watching The Nothing eat away at Fantasia? I know I didn't. I don't think Atreyu, Bastian or Princess Moonchild did either. Please don't add a restrictive dual currency. The game worked absolutely fine without it. And if there has to be adds, please give us the option to disable them. Adds suck. I have an affinity for certain titles, those that don't leave my device. If you see what's going on with the so many games lost to The Nothing, then take my advice and fight for Fantasia.
