Okay, thought I would post some pictures to make this easier. What you get right now for a continue screen is this: https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=DB7AF1CCA3D47BCE!431&authkey=!ACok17us1PY_wjg There are three things I kind of don't like about it. First, if it is a true continue screen, it should say Yes/No, not game over and yes with money. You could still put the money by the yes, but making it yes/no seems more conventional. Second because of the way it looks, it kind of looks like an inapp nag screen. Also, I am very scared to accidentally hit it, in fear of loses coins. I don't think there is a confirm purchases on the yes continue right? Third, it makes it another screen to go through, sure, time wise, it doesn't save that much time, but having to hit game over just to get to another screen to restart is somewhat like playing a puzzle game, then if you fail, instead of saying restart, you have to exit, then restart, which some puzzle games do which gets a little frustrating. Currently on time bomb mode, if you die, it says after the continue screen: https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=DB7AF1CCA3D47BCE!432&authkey=!AMyBe-jGi2v3URY If you die in the classic mission levels: https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=DB7AF1CCA3D47BCE!433&authkey=!APctc9mpB8gqPCY Before you mentioned that my method would make the classic and time bomb modes inconsistent, but as you can see in the pictures, it already is, with the armoury button not in the options of the time bomb. Actually, how I would envision it more is having 4 options kind of like your pause menu... https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=DB7AF1CCA3D47BCE!434&authkey=!AKqpjrHTXcrycc4 You could have a screen that says continue with the coins, restart, main menu, and armoury. All of the options except continue would go to coin and game summary so you would get your coins. If not, I would suggest that you make the continue screen more like a regular one that says Yes(500 coins) or No, and have the yes on the left side and add a question mark. Anyway, I am in a real hurry right now, so hope it makes some sense. Let me know what you think. Cheers! PS: if you hit the arrows on the side, or swipe on the pictures, you can see the pictures really fast.
Antony, Another aspect I like about this game is how objects in the environment can be shot and damaged. The couches with feathers floating in the air is great. I'd like to see glass windows in some of the buildings that you can shoot out, and the glass windows on the tops of the buildings should be able to be destroyed as well. This game is just BEGGING for things to be shot at. The more objects in the environment that can be destroyed, the happier my trigger finger becomes. I think you can see where I am going with my suggestions
is anybody else experiencing the bug, basically after i defeated the jungle levels, i bought a new gun, and now I no longer get combo kills, head shots, quick draws etc. the only bonuses i seem to be getting are hat hit, chicken combos, and close shave.
OK gang, late to the party, attempting to enjoy this game so I can buy at least the Coin Multiplier and slip Antony some cash... After many plays, I've determined that I stink at the game. I simply cannot get past Level 1, and my pathetic coin supply won't buy me anything that appears remotely helpful. Am I doing something wrong? It seems like a few people really enjoyed this game, so there has to be a way to get better and progress, right? Some help please? DBC
You don't need 3 stars to progress, you can come back to those levels when you have bigger weapons. Just take it slow and play it safe.
Welcome! I'll take a stab at this, what is most important is the ability to dodge bullets, not shooting enemies. In the early levels, the blue shots don't seem to do any damage, but watch out for the red bullets. When one is coming, stop shooting so your character will evade the shots. If you are shooting, the red stars will hit you and take one piece of your clothing. Also, I don't know if you know this, but you can use your pistol like a machine gun and rapid fire. You do this by continuing to press down and swiping instead of just tapping to fire. It will feel like a machine gun. I never do this because I feel it is cheating, but if you are having troubles, it will help a lot since you can fire tons of bullets. Better guns fire much better. I recommend the plasma gun, it will make your life easier save up some money for it. Coin doubler costs 99 cents, but it is worth it. Without it, the coin regeneration is quite slow, and with it, it feels about right. It is essential if you want to buy weapons, clothes etc. Upgrade the modes so you can play the time bomb mode as soon as you can, it is fun. So to get a plasma gun, cheap uniform, unlock levels and modes will cost you a little more than 10,000 coins. If you really want to cheat, you can buy some coins in the store for 99 cents. Once you get these, inapps are pretty much optional. I'm just getting coins now for cool clothes mostly. If you are really having troubles, buy some coins and buy the plasma gun first, the game is much easier, playing with a pistol is quite hard in some levels, even for advanced players. But remember to learn how to dodge and use your pistol as a machine gun. That would probably be enough for now. Inapps are pretty optional in this game, but if you want to save some grinding time, spend the 2 dollars needed for some coins and the coin doubler. Hope this helps.
Hope this helps? Oh, it helps. Dodging? I can dodge? Uhm, yeah... you've just made this game very different for me. I'll report back after I get another chance to play, but thank you so much! DBC
Blue shots never hit you. They're just kind of visual effects. You can shoot the red shots to deflect them. If you're having trouble, I'd suggest you just stop shooting to take cover instead. Nothing, not even explosions hit you when you are taking cover. A sniper rifle or magnum are very helpful in the game. They can shoot through obstacles and hit enemies that are taking cover. This is very important for keeping your multiplier up and getting high scores. Obviously that'll come later if you're struggling with difficulty early on.
You are automatically safe in this game if you do nothing, but instinctively you go to shoot and that is when you peak out around your cover and are vulnerable to getting hit. Don't feel bad, I had the same issue at first too. Once you get a rhythm down and start to notice the patterns you will become very much hooked on this game. Getting better weapons will really make you addicted.
Yeah. You need to completely close the app (from the multitasking bar) and everything sorts itself out. Has anyone managed to get the 'chicken shot off your head' objective yet?
@ Everyone who responded to my pleas... OK, so after realizing (being informed) that I can stay behind cover? I am now playing and consistently enjoying myself! I know, right? Ah, isn't stupidity great? I even three-starred the second level! You know, the one I previously couldn't make it through without dying? Thanks to all for the help! DBC
The answer to your objective question is in the armory. It's good to see people helping each other out. This hasn't happened for one of my games since Shatter on Steam . It really makes developers happy seeing an enthusiastic community forming. I might have to start a rocket jump forum.
Well, thanks for releasing a great game and updating it to be something with a lot of replay value. I actually really appreciate the fact that non of the IAPs can really end up affecting the online leader boards as well. Last time I checked I had a top 20 score on the arcade leader board. Whih says more about how much I've been enjoying the game than anything else I could say.
I don't know how it does it buy Major Mayhem is one of the few platformers I like. All it's missing is iCloud sync .
Antony, did you read this earlier post? Didn't get a response, and I kind of spent some time on this post, so it would be nice to get some kind of response. If the response is it is hard to do, or wouldn't make sense, that is fine. I'll just ask this final time.
Well, it is good to see that you are enjoying them game now instead of being frustrated. Great to see you getting 3 stars, I've only gotten 2 stars on level 2, so you passed me up already! Haha But I usually play on time bomb mode which is a quick one minute mode that emphasizes bosses more and feels more like an arcade game. When you get the coins, unlock all game modes in the armoury, it is worth it. Then you can try to get a good weapon like the plasma gun, and you can get a costume, if you look at my earlier posts, I posted some screenshots of my characters, I like the Rambo look. The all blue isn't bad either. For some reason, I really dislike the green look, so I am happy there are more costumes, and sounds like the developers will be adding more on the next update. Well, have fun shooting away. Cheers!
