As a big MM1, the timers really made me sad. However seeing the dev here engage with the community has made me give the game a second chance. I would definitely be down for some kind of fair IAP to remove timers to satisfy those who want a more "premium" feel. The comment about self-publishing made me happy. That's definitely good news imo for you guys to try and establish yourselves. Hopefully you can continue this as a long series! I do hope this game will get more continual improvements to become even better. Overall, what I love in shooter type games is some customizable / progress things I can grind for, stats to show my hard work, and then modes that will make me keep coming back (instead of beating a story mode and that's it for content). I'm confident the MM devs can pull these all off at some point. Cheers! (Btw I hope there's cloud saving in MM2. I've been downloading and buying too many new games with no cloud saving which makes me sad that when I clear the device, I won't want to restart and play it again) ---- Misc non-gameplay notes: Could you change the text on the app icon so it's not "Major May..." Nothing against the month of May or anything. MM2 or Mayhem 2 would work imo. Icon also just looks a tad blurry. For some reason my eyes get strained looking at it amongst my other apps, usually that happens when one image appears to be out of focus - though it could be the bright color on the left side making that visual effect as well.
Fun game just like the original. Speaking of, why is the first game not available anymore on the AppStore? Also didnt the other game have Game Center? Would be nice if GC was included with this one.

We will add it in later. I wanted to make a more specialised compeditive mode rather than just tacking leaderboads onto levels like the first one.
This sounds awesome!! I just hit stage 10 (I've been going back and replaying levels until I hit the 10k/3 diamonds score for each)... And I'm loving it. The level designs and destructibles and new types of enemy artillery and... Just everything is top notch & loads of fun. I haven't bought many games this year (and I know it's only the end of April...) but this has the definite potential to wind up in my top 3 favorite games for this year. <3'n it - <3'n it - <3'n it!!! =D
Totally loving this game. Not a huge fan of the energy system but I can deal. And at least when redoing a level to get more medals it only costs 1 energy the next play through. Was there not armours to buy in the first game? I have noticed my medlas aren’t syncing when gaining extra medals but this game is so much fun I almost don’t mind
I am still putting the odd session into it but I dont think I can deal with the amount of money required for the new weapons etc. One of the joys of the first one was unlocking new weapons and seeing what they did but I just cant envisage ever getting anywhere near enough currency to unlock any of the good ones.
Medals aren't syncing? What do you mean? Noted. Just so you can win all weapons out of reward cases once they have been 'unlocked'. There are Standard, Heroic, Epic and Elite cases that appear. Each one will guarantee at least one blueprint of that tier. So when you get an elite case, you will earn one of the available elite weapons.
Yeah but how often will an epic blueprint show up? Ive already received 4 shotgun blueprints (after waiting 5 hours to open the chest) when you only need two. While there is the chance to unlock guns for free I feel like those wont come around very often. Also agree that I feel like it will take forever to unlock the better guns without paying.
Thank you for being willing to engage with the community here, and thank you for continuing to work at making great games for my preferred platform despite this being a very difficult market to survive in as a small developer. I know developers and publishers need to be able to adapt quickly to this shifting environment, and that its a very dicey effort to bank your time on a fickle and attention-limited consumer base. I wish you good luck. Your kind of passion is what keeps gaming fun for all of us, despite how the ever-growing big business aspects of it sometimes cast a long shadow.
Possible bug found Possible bug: on level 27, while riding the motorbike the game occasionally stops registering swipes up and I can only jump by touching the jump button. It happened several times already and when it does I need to kill the app and launch it again to restore normal behavior (other levels are not affected though). The last time it happened I noticed the swipe only registers while I’m shooting, i.e. touching the screen with another finger. Edit: I’m playing on an iPad Pro 10.5 running iOS 11.2.5 Edit 2: just found another issue where the coin icon won’t show up after rescuing a hostage. If I click on his spot I get the coins, but the icon never appears. This happened after leaving the game and returning maybe 30 minutes later and stayed like this until I restarted the app. Edit 3: I was replaying some levels and noticed the issue of unresponsive swipes also occurs on level 22 during the motorbike run. Edit 4: I just noticed a weird glitch while replaying level 22 - all enemies are facing the same direction, all the time (see attached screenshots). Also, my bullets seem to wrap the screen and come around from the right (in screenshot 3 see the bullet near the bottom right window of the train? That’s while I was shooting at the top left of the train)
Thanks for reporting these issues. We're working through a number of bugs hopefully some of these will be addressed in the next update. It's hard to tell if the fixes I've made will fix these issues. Unity sometimes encounters errors but tries it's hardest to forge ahead anyway leaving the app in an inconsistent state that can manifest in any number of ways. Let me know if you can pin point any one action that might trigger these issues.
I feel like everybody loves this game on Android but it doesn't get the same love on iOS. Why do you think this is?
Volume. I think the people that got it on iOS are previous fans who expected the world and also are reluctant to accept any changes on an initial release. A lot of our android players are new to Major Mayhem so had no expectations.
Yeah agree. Loved the first one so wanted to give this one a shot, but there are just too many pay mechanisms. That aside, this could be a great game without and still allow the dev to make money.
If you don't mind me asking, how well is the game doing? It seems like there is a high willingness for people on here to pay a decent amount for a non-energy system version of the game. I'd imagine that would lead to a higher revenue per user than what the game is currently. Maybe just test it out on iOS?
Currently we make $12 per paying user on average which is roughly what people here are indicating they would pay. In all honest that's all I really expected people to pay if they wanted to skip energy then they can buy an energy pack. I guess the issue is that people have been trained to dislike these systems through other games so even if you make it fair, people's preconception of it is that it isn't. That's an oversight on my part. I'll be looking to rebalance it a bit but if I were to remove energy then it would remove the free revives that you currently get (10 free energy) per session. So it's not just as easy as removing it, others will complain about no longer receiving that, so I must tread carefully. I am willing to do some experiments though and will start running them next month on a subset of the player base and see what yields the best results for players (measured by time played and competition rate), as well as what's best for us (app rating, installs and ultimately revenue from IAP and Ads). Ultimately I want it to be the best it can be and I truely believe that'll result in a balance between what the players want and what the game needs to generate in revenue to survive and continue development.
Any fix in the works to have medals accurately sync between devices? Any replayed level doesnt give the added medals to both devices, only the one it happened on. Money and wespons syncs well (at least I believe so) but not the medals...
