haha, thats some trailer! Could be also funny for a intro, totally over the top intro with the scientist being the bubble jongleur and doing acrobatic moves while merging the bubbles and then it gets to a laser show with the bubble beam and at the end fireworks with the glowing bubbles popping! How does that sound?
I like it but, it's missing something. I say it would start with him doing very serious "scientific work" in his lab, complete with the lab coat in a darkened room looking through his magnifying monocle and taking very serious notes. We then look through the magnifying monocle at what he is viewing, see essentially a few samples of gameplay and eventually one of the laser swipes will get so bright the whole screen just goes solid green (blue, red, whichever) and then when the light fades down again we see it's the scientist being a goof dancing/flipping/juggling with bubbles falling and lasers shooting all over like that video above. Just an idea.
yea, thats a very good idea actually! This way the gameplay can be explained a bit by letting the user look through the magnifiying monocle and at the same time it can be very funny and entertaining with the scientist going nuts! I dont want to decide yet on it but its definately a very good idea to go for.
We are just experimenting with a interesting new feature, the squashing of bubbles! We are also still looking for a cool subtitle for the games name.
Here is how the new squashing feature looks: When you touch a bubble on top of it while its not glowing it gets squashed. You can then drag it a bit while squashed. But there are some disadvantages, the squashed bubble takes up more space and cant merge while squashed. It also moves just really slow. Its very handy to drag bubbles out of the way and to move carefully around obstacles. We are also still trying to find a cool name, im not really good at it because english is also not my first language, anyway i took a translator and put some ideas together: Magnify Physics 2: Push, Combine, Squash and Pop Super Magni Physics Magnificent Science Magnify Physics 2: geometric magnification Magnify Physics 2: chemical energy Magnify Physicochemical Magnify Physics 2: chemical combination Magni Fusion: Magnify Physics 2 Magnify Physics 2: Expand Fusion Professor Orbixs and the new soure of energy Magnificent Fusion The Magnificent Game Magnify Physics 2 and the Mega Fusion Experiment Magnify Physics 2: Magnificent chemical reactions Professor Bubblelopos Magnificent Machine Magni Physics: The art of fusion let me know what you like.
I actually like this one, "Magnify Physics 2: Push, Combine, Squash and Pop". It really sums up exactly what this game is about.
hmmm Josh also told me in chat he likes MagniPhysics the most, i think it sounds really great. It was "SunriseMoon"s idea by the way. Might be the smartest move to call it Magni Physics: Push, Combine, Squash and Pop or MagniPhysics: Push, Combine, Squash and Pop?
It's a bit long isn't it? You've got to think about how you want the text under the App icon to appear. I guess you could just use MagniPhysics.
I like it and see it as most title/subtitle deals. The FORMAL NAME would be, "MagniPhysics: Push, Combine, Squash and Pop" but in conversation it would more likely just go by MagniPhysics or MP when getting really cute and informal.
Magnify Physics 2: Chromatic Fusion : A Fusion Puzzler : Professor Orbix's Fusion Experiment : The Next Dimension [i.e. holes, gates, etc] : Orders of Magnitude : Alles in Ordnung : Mad Fusion : The Fusion Project
"Chromatic Fusion" sounds awesome but I wonder if that would almost imply it is simply a game about mixing colors? "A Fusion Puzzler" also kind of works for me (makes it more clear what the game is about just from the title).
Push, Combine, Squash and Pop would be just the subtitle and for the name under app icon you can choose a short name so that would be MagniPhysics and in the app store it would have the full name. everyone would just say magniphysics to it anyway. - i think too this sounds great but like lordgek said it sounds too much like mixing colors. : A Fusion Puzzler - this is really cool but i think "The Fusion Puzzler" would be better. It might implie too much thats only a puzzler and doesnt take the arcade gameplay in account when i think about it : Professor Orbix's Fusion Experiment sounds good : The Next Dimension [i.e. holes, gates, etc] sounds very cool but might be too abstract : Orders of Magnitude magnitude is a great fitting word i think : Alles in Ordnung alles bestens! : Mad Fusion sounds cool but it isnt that mad : The Fusion Project there is "the fusion experiment" better i think I would love to have it in the name that its about making things bigger with fusion/combining. Isnt there a word that means making something bigger with combining?
If you want to start off all dignified and scientific but end it almost colloquial/earthy how about: MagniPhysics: Amass & Pop MagniPhysics: Garner & Pop
well, the problem about them is that that are not well known words at all. i had no idea what amass and garner means without looking it up in the translater.
How about: MagniPhysics: Merge & Pop MagniPhysics: Fuse & Pop I also agree just working in the word "Fusion" is possible would be cool but I'm just not seeing where or how to do it in a snappy way. Fusion Physics: Merge & Pop? "Fusion Physics: Fuse & Pop" would make more sense but sound kind of redundant like "Bubbling Bubbles".
yea, fusion is also a great way to mention the merging that results in something bigger even though it seems it has also a lot of other meanings. I really like the "Push, Combine, Squash and Pop" subtitle already. Because it really mentions all the various mechanics to it. What about Magni Physics: Push, Fuse, Squash and Pop though im really not sure at all how much fuse means something like merging?? Fusion Physics sounds cool but I also liked Magni a lot, physics might be not really needed so what about: Magni Fusion: Push, Combine, Squash and Pop
