Or so the stories claimed... Spellenya, a talented young man and grandson of a great magician, has set out to track down his missing master. And in order to succeed, he'll have to gather the mystical beings known as the Magi! In this second tale to come from the Ficustone Project, Spellenya, the ""world's last magician"" will have to work together with a group of strange little Magi who take up residence in his consciousness. Sometimes playful, sometimes heart-rending, the adventure is always exciting in this beautiful RPG of magic personified. [Until the End] You can essentially play the game all the way through and witness the mysterious, surprising ending in this smartphone RPG. (*The game also includes in-game advertisements and optional purchases.) [Affection System] The closer you and your Magi become, the stronger they'll grow. But if you keep your distance, they'll remain forever powerless. Improve their affection by giving them presents or catering to their desires. [Magic-Only Battle] Channel your spirit to win the day! Do you attack with weak, fast magic or slow, strong spells? Timing your spells and managing your MP is the key to victory! ==================================================== [System Requirements] - iOS8.2 or higher ©2017 HEXADRIVE Inc. This game was made by a company who helped work on E.X. Troopers, Final Fantasy XV, Mario Sports Superstars, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D and The Wonderful 101 I loved the unique art from the images (cardboard cut out style) and I went to play it and was blown away how good it was. There's so many good things about this app. It's free, and almost too free - IAP and optional ads - with an energy timer that charges very fast (1 energy every 3 minutes, fastest I've seen in any timer game). The game itself is very simple to learn and hard to master. You can't spam attacks like you think. Basically you have to estimate and guess how much magic to use before you run out of MP. It's huge strategy (especially in later levels) with battles played out in real time. You'll need to use the correct monsters for the right elements so you can be most efficient at MP usage before you run out. You can set how powerful magic you want to use, with max amount giving you special bonus effects but also using the most MP. Balancing all these factors is the key to winning. You can level up (increase affection) your spirits by fulfilling their unique requirements, like healing more, killing certain enemies etc. Some are even hard to level up because they lose affection for killing any enemy in the game. You can use gems from battle to craft the spirits gifts to boost their affection as well. The game offers many challenges. The best part of the game for me is the story and translation. If you enjoy RPGs with a good amount of story, this should be enjoyable. Whoever did the translation for this game did an incredible job. The story isn't groundbreaking but it's sincerely fun with a lot of charm. It reminds me of when I played Asdvine Hearts with a fresh and fun story. This story flows very well and the jokes are on point. The game is originally in Japanese and probably has one of the best translations I've seen for a indie dev game. Edit: Localization was done by a new studio that was founded by former members of NISA who worked on titles such as Danganronpa, Atelier Meruru, Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love, and some of the Disgaea series (Well now that explains why it's so good) A lot of work was put into the design of the game itself, with your character profile changing as you level up, and home base dialogue changing as you progress through the story. The team who made this knew what they were doing. The game doesn't need internet connection to play (YAY) and offers lots of cosmetic outfits and boosts for purchase (there's a ridiculously expensive IAP that lets you skip every battle in the game wtf), which so far don't seem necessary. You gain more MP and energy as you level up, which makes the game continually easier with grind. This f2p game is extremely generous and that might explain why this game was localized about a year ago and nothing else has been localized. Probably didn't make enough money to justify translating more of their apps to English. I plan on buying some cosmetics to support the game which I've already spent a over a few hours on. Definitely a hidden gem for me that most people probably won't even need to spend a penny on. ------------- Old articles on the game: http://www.rpgfan.com/news/2018/7738.html http://michibiku.com/magical-passcode-1111-employs-a-rather-casual-and-friendly-aesthetic/ ramzarules likes this. ramzarules Well-Known Member Sep 13, 2014 2,112 128 63 Greece #3 ramzarules, Mar 9, 2019 loving the art style!
