Have you tried the planes walker matches yet? I had one opponent attack me with 8 creatures and with all the cards overlapping and a jumble of target lines it was impossible to finger out what was blocking what. I just tapped things and hoped for the best... I lost :/
Are you sure that his creature wasn't flying? Flying creatures can only be blocked by other flying creatures, and walls. It tells you this when you first encounter a flying unit.
Is anyone else not getting sound effects? Music works fine and SFX volume is maxed, but sound effects just aren't working. I've played all the previous versions so I've got a good idea of what I'm missing.
Another tip: Read the cards. With Magic guessing or assuming is a bad idea. I know most cards but i still read 'm regularly and if you're not sure what it does tap info. Double tap to zoom, enjoy the art and read. Every card that's played, even land cards can have tricks, just read it. Best advice i've ever gotten when i learned to play.
Whoops, misread that. I dunno then, must have been some kind of special card effect, or maybe something caused by a planeshift.
Thanks. My issue with IAP not being well communicated is that I'd expect a list of what the "full game" is when I buy it, ie- multiplayer, more campaign modes, etc. It's easy for someone to be confused that buying the full game should also unlock the decks. Also, it wasn't clear to me that I'm limited to the built in decks. Sure these can be customized, but I expected to be able to create decks from scratch. Now, this is coming from someone who played Magic a decade ago and not since, so I'm unfamiliar with how the game has been played online since. Just a simple explanation when you start the campaign would be great: "In Magic 2013, you have access to up to 10 built in decks. Unlock the decks and extra cards to customize them by playing the campaign." Or did I miss that message. About the battlemat, I'm sure it's huge for multiplayer, but there's no reason it needs to be for campaign. I'd prefer a dynamic play space that pulls in tighter so it doesn't seem so sparse and text so small.
It's possible I might - I do have the game installed on my original iPad (runs great on that old device, I have to say!) plus I installed it on the new iPad. Since I take my old iPad to work, I could see the need to pause a game and switch to my new iPad when I got home. Yeah - that! What is up with that, quite annoying and no purpose for it! Has to be a bug. Also, not sure if there is a setting I can turn off so that cards with abilities available do not always need to have that orange glowing border, I keep thinking it's a combat phase indicator, even though I just finished that step, lol. Minor annoyance is how sometimes when an opponent's card zooms in and the 'Stop timer' icon blends in where the card flavor text is if the card doesn't have much text in that area and I lose sight of the icon since it's white on white. But otherwise, after playing two games, so far, it's looking like a great adaption! Might even skip the desktop version this year...
Is there any way to make this game go, I don't know, faster? It's really slow. I would like a responsive interface first and foremost, I don't want my taps going to the void. Graphics and card animations are nice, but the game plods along with them and they aren't interrupted by you dragging or tapping something else, you're just ignored. Am I the only one who wants my strategy games to be responsive to input?
OMG, it seems I am back to the iOS scene because of this game. I was waiting for this game to come out on the Xbox 360 (in July I think), but now that I see it early for ipad, I think I will get this instead. So question, anybody know the difference with this one and the xbox one? Thanks!
Yes, that was planeswalker match that I described. Have tried twice and lost both times. But I should have one the first one IF the damn blocking function worked. I have seen other creatures with summoning sickness block me so I don't know why it doesn't work when I try to block, or work consistently. I bought the $10 upgrade. What do I get for this? I thought I could start playing a white or black deck right away. They are still locked! I still have only the green/red/blue decks I started with. This really could be clearer in regards to what you are getting when you buy the upgrade. I tried one multiplayer game and that worked fine. Nice to be able to just concede. Can you invite friends to planewalker games online? Keep the game private?
As i heard they're excactly the same except for some interface. I'm not sure about online features though.
You missed that message. They throw a bulleted list at you every few matches touting the features of the full game with a button to purchase, and it pretty much outlines everything you mentioned. You get the full campaign for your $10, rather than just the first few tutorial missions. You unlock more decks by beating the AIs using those decks throughout the campaign.
Probably he faced a creature with "Intimidate" skill, or maybe was enchanted with an aura which granted him protection from XXX (from a color for example). But there are many options to avoid blocks, actually game's working perfectly and after few hours of various matches (campaign, challenge, multiplayer, planechase) I haven't experienced any sort of serious bug nor problem. Everything's seem working fine until now. A note - Walls don't automatically block flying creatures: only those who have the "Reach" skill can do that. When playing Magic, is quite necessary to pay attention at every single card (and their very specific & precise wordings/rulings) on the table. Otherwise you may end up losing without proper understanding of what happened.
If you really have that much trouble with blocking i'd strongly recommend playing the tutorial again. For the upgrade it's clearly stated in the app description that there are seven more decks to "unlock".
Couldn't find explanations for: 1) Simplified Targeting 2) Hold Priority I can guess what these mean, but it'd be nice to have a full explanation: 1) Browse entire library 2) Auto-assign damage 3) Auto resolution
And what the hell is 'skry'? "You get 'skry'..." This showed up on a planes card with no explanation.
