Even if backed up by itunes, you will lose that data after removing the app from your device and syncing with itunes. Works that way for all games without icloud saving.

Getting a lot of crashes since the update. It's much worse than before. What exactly was improved?

And what's with all the hacking on the online leaderboards? There are two assholes now at no 1 and 2 with 65000 pts. Why doesn't wotc remove them?

Since the last update, every single time I start the game I get reminded that my achievements, etc, are linked to my gamecenter account. Is this normal? It's kind of annoying.

Also, the "timer" text is obscuring text on played cards. Don't remember this happening before.

  7. Cool, thanks.

I may wait on purchasing due to bug reports...

This app is crashing every ten minutes now since the update. They fixed NOTHING. I wont be buying any new decks until this is fixed. They should be embarrassed. One gig download and I'm rebooting all the time. I've never had a game crash like this on such a regular basis and i am on ipad 3. With WOTC's budget, they should iron out these bugs Before it's released. It's not like it's a cheap game by a one man operation. I put $15 into this already and I am on the 'kill app' bar too all the time. Waiting for a connection an get nothing but the scrolling background shot for five minutes.

If they want to do us a favor, remove the hundreds of loading screens before you actually can get into the game. Click, click, click, click....etc

You know you can unlock all the decks for free by playing the game, right?

Where did you read that? You have to pay to unlock the decks. The free version gives you three free with 'limited' unlocks. If you want all the decks and the ability to unlock all the cards, it's ten bucks. Plus, I have a friend who I play against who doesn't have time to unlock cards one by one, and that means even after paying the $10, you can pay another $1 per deck to get access to all the cards at once.

$10 to get access to all decks
$10 to unlock cards to those decks if you don't want to bother playing 50-70 games with each deck to unlock by wins.

= $23 with tax. This is big investment for a 'game' on the ipad. But it's in line with price gouging by WOTC over the years. Twenty three times more expensive than the typical game app at 99 cents. If they listed this price right up front on the app, no one would have bought it, even if it did include all the decks and cards. For this cost, the app should be running a lot better. The game has also incurred an additional $70 in expenses by getting me to buy actual cards to make a cube! Damn you WOTC!

This is why there aren't more top flight games in the App Store. IMO, the production values on this game are far higher than on any of the 99 cent games available. I realize some people are having issues with crashing, etc. and that sucks, but I do believe they will resolve the issues.

$10 for a game of this caliber is a bargain. Even if you "don't have time" to unlock the cards by playing it and choose to pay to do so, it's still worth $23 as far as I am concerned.

Um. You can take the time to play and unlock. Simple as that. If you don't want to "waste the time" then you have the option to dropping money. Doing that is completely optional and under no circumstances is it required.

The system is there as an incentive to play through the game, it never moused around that. It allows a fast track solution that to many people ruins the point. If you dont want to waste the time, fine. Don't. But don't complain that WOTC is "gouging" us, they aren't. They're offering those who are impatient an out.

you can play 2 decks for free, and even those only allow a few cards to be unlocked. The third deck is only available through playing the campaign. If you want the rest, you pay $10. That's already a price way above the norm. And you pay an additional ten to unlock those fully. In comparison to the market average, this is gouging. Free to play....sure, a 'portion' is free to play, the rest is $23 to unlock. If you want to get in a competitive game online, you need all the unlocks, so to do that you are paying $23 to get full access. And you don't see that as gouging for an APP? And it's especially annoying when the bugs haven't been worked out of the app.

    Yes, that's how a "demo" works :)

It's the same price as on consoles. For the quality of the game, it's a steal. Every release some people will have bugs. To take a game that is on Consoles AND PCs and port it almost perfectly to the iPad is stellar. I've not had any major issues running it on an iPad 2 or my wife's iPad 1. So to you it may seem expensive, but if I wanted to play it on my 360 or PS3 I would be in for the same price, but without any of the ties of a console.

This is how it works. It's a steal in my opinion and I think the majority of the people will agree with me on that.

And as for wanting to play online, fine. If you want to RUSH it then YES you have to pay. That's clear. If you are good enough to play competitively, it will take much less time to unlock the decks. It's your choice to rush the process.

Oh wow, way magic way too much. Completed all of the campaigns on mage and archmage with all the encounters, completed all but the last challenge, have fully unlocked the Exhalted Darkness deck (love that deck too much), and have 20+ cards on both of the white mana decks as well as Jace's deck, and I also play loads of online matches. Can't stop playing this, had it from within an hour of release and still addicted.

And to the guy a few post up who said that you need all the unlocks to play competitively in online, that's probably just because your not great at the game. ;)

Do you know what's more pointless than iOS pricing arguments?

    Nothing.

While these profane grammatical discussions were fascinating, lets please try to stay on topic, and not call each other nasty names, ok? Awesome. Now, back to our program...

This game has definitely offered up more fun play time per dollar than most of the 99 cent apps I've bought lately. If there is one gripe to be had with the game, it's not price, it's just lack of being able to build your own deck. I'd love to see that in a future version and I'd be happy to pay another $10 for that.
