I'm new to this thread, so it'd be great if somebody could answer me. Will there ever be an iPhone/iPod version of the game?! If so, when? I want this so bad

No, I absolute don't think so. The user interface would be way too small for an iPhone screen.

The order of effects does not matter in this case because damage is only healed during the end step. If a creature takes damage it is in the form of damage counters that remain on the creature until they are removed at the end of the turn. So when Serra Ascendant later falls back to a 2/4 with 4 damage counters on it, it goes to the graveyard immediately.

But in other circumstances, where the order would matter, the Serra Ascendant's +5/+5 is known as a static ability. This comes up if you block a 1/1 Serra Ascendant controlled by someone at 29 life, say with a 5/5 creature of your own. If might surprise you that the Serra Ascendant lives and your 5/5 also lives in this interaction, because the lifelink pushes the life total to 30 and therefore the Serra's power and toughness become 6/6 in the same instant that damage is dealt and before the game checks state-based effects for death. Of course combat damage has already been dealt simultaneously, so Serra only dealt 1 damage.

They have fit MANY a complex game onto the iPhone, world of goo for one was a game I never thought could touch an iPhone screen, but it works. AC, Ascension and a few others, summoner wars I think, all make it work.

If the system was properly overhauled and reworked, I think it could be done. I don't think it would be Easy, but can you imagine the sales they'd get?

You don't know how much I want what you're saying to be true, but I know it takes talent, and you have to know that kind of talent isn't an easy thing to find. The people who made this iPad port (for which I am immensely grateful, don't get me wrong) barely had the UX chops to make it somewhat playable, if you don't mind the interface being directly responsible for some boneheaded moves now and again. For example a double tap gets you more information about something (letting you see the card), while a single tap targets and confirms. If the game doesn't recognize your second tap for some reason (too fast or too slow), too bad, you just goblin grenaded your own goblin chieftain. And that's just one example, this thread has many others and even a summary.

By comparison, Playdek is home to UX maestros, and their games are better experiences than the original board and card games they are based on. As much as I want a digital reimagining of the experience behind playing Magic, I get that Wizards has a vested interest in making the game look and play exactly like playing it on the tabletop, because their goal is to get you into the physical cards. And it's too bad, too, because I can see in my mind like you how it *could* be.

    Pretty nice

The concept of the game seems pretty good. If the graphics of the app is going to be the same as the video then this game is going to be an awesome one.

A strictly "no iPhone version" was said about assassins creed recollection as well. It was finally done, and in my opinion it turned out great. I see no reason why this wouldn't work.
It already lends itself to that with the way you double tap cards to make them bigger in the screen - a very iPhone-esque thing. If ascension, ACR and many others can do it, then magic can do it. Really hope they do, and wouldn't mind paying either. I'm
Sure they'd get good revenue again if that's a concern.

Edit: this was meant to be in response to someone saying no way could an iPhone version work on the previous page.

Well, I've just lost ALL my progress of the game. I own a wifi only New iPad (no 3G), 16GB.

The game has not crashed or anything rare. I played a couple of campaign missions this morning (no internet connection while playing) and reopened the game this afternoon to play some more (internet connection available) and... ALL MY PROGRESS, UNLOCKED CARDS, ACHIEVMENTS GONE!!!. I tried the "log out of game center reopen log in again" method, and I could get my achievements back, but the progress and unlocked cards are all gone, just as if I've just started playing the game.

I don't want to start the game again from the beginning, not because I don't like it. The game is awesome, but because I don't want to lose my progress AGAIN a month later and get really really annoyed.

So developers, PLEASE, FIX THIS BUG. This bug has made this game completly useless to me, as I can't trust the save method anymore.
I'm even considering asking for a refund and rebuy only if this bug is fixed.

    Not too happy.

Can someone explain how a Mage card works? Does it affect the game at all? Ie: in campaign mode when you battle Jace or Lilliana, etc, it shows a bio of them before the battle starts as well as a card for them with different skills at +6, -1, -10 or something. Are those cards in the game? Do they affect play?

They're not in this game, but they exist in the physical card game. Don't worry about it (but if you want to look them up because you're interested in "real" MtG, they're called planeswalker cards).

I like how your final build for that deck is almost the complete opposite of mine, which has basically no non-flyers, favoring mass removal and tons of burn instead (none of the X spells, though). Just goes to show how the same deck in someone else's hands can become a completely different beast :)
