My understanding is that if you delete and reinstall the app, you also delete the the saved data you had previously, since the saved data is stored locally.
I have an iPad 2 16gb wifi only with the latest os version (official version) I have always entered the codes when logged in in GC and when online. Btw I love the game! So I doubt I will ever give it up, but those promo cards are very nice!
I think a cloud save feature (like Infinity Blade 2 or Assassin's Creed Recollections for example) is heavily needed here. Until now, except for the two achievements still not unlocked in my Gamecenter profile (Master of Puzzles and 10 Encounters Winner), I have not experienced any other problem. But must say I always wait proper GC login when running my M:tG app (I mean, I don't never enter main menu until GC login shows off). But reading about various people complaints here and there, the cloud save feature is a truly needed one. It's really annoying to play, unlock everything, then... Poufff!!! I can easily figure tons of nervous wreck. No way to continue with this insane saving method. Again, devs please read this! Signed: every Magic: The Gathering 2013 app fan.
Since there is no fix for the crashing app, it is really unfortunate that the options are to either lose all of your progress data or not play the game at all.
Yeah I had a couple of close calls where I thought it reset, but it was due to GC not logging in first. I simply exited then opened the app back up and did nothing until I received the GC prompt, fixed everything. So does this mean I won't be able to use any of my unlocks and promos if I play or use the deck manager in Airplane mode?
I didn't like that challenge especially because you have multiple ways to solve it, even for killing a particular praetor. It just feels wrong that there isn't a single perfect solution (or 5 of them in this case).
The challenges are pretty good though, but the Exalted one (no.2?) is pretty troll... I'm stuck at the Puresteel Paladin one. I'm 1 damage off
Let's summarize my loses... Most of my losses are lack of mana given to me after the initial mana I begin with ( I never begin by less than 3 or due to excess mana, where drawing cards keeps giving me mana only cards It's so stupid that mana cards luck control the game!!!! However usually a balanced draw between mana and other cards lead to either win or a great game I wish that mana cards could be dealt better ..like one mana is automatically increased per turn.... And make this duel called Mana free duel I assure you this new mood Allpeople will shift to it to have very strong fights and test the real strength of the decks! And why aren't there 2 vs 2 in multiplayer over wifi???
We had a variant where you would could skip a draw from your library to draw a basic land from elsewhere instead up to 4 times that worked very well without altering too much the rest of the format. You could also discard 2 lands to draw again up to a nonbasic land, revealing and discarding basic lands until you reached one.
There are five perfect solution, one for each praetor. Once you figure the "key mechanism", each of five outcomes will become clear as sky. These puzzles are really easy to solve, trust me...
A friend and I made our own little MtG single deck variant where we just mixed all of our cards into a MASSIVE single deck and then from that deck deal each of ourselves a 60 card library for the game. We quickly decided that the normal mana system would never work in this essentially completely unbalanced 6 color deck. What we did instead is a bit akin to what they do in Summoner Wars' mana system. So there was no traditional land but any card in your hand could be treated as a land/mana source of the color it represented (if a multi-colored card I think you still had to commit to one, but it could be of any of the represented colors). So one could still get mana hosed if you never got enough black cards, say, to power some nasty demon, and once treated as a mana source you could never later in the game revert it back to its original spell/summon. While these games relied a LOT on luck, I loved how you had to make every card count since you had no idea which cards even made it to your deck this game!
Luck is and always has been a part of the game; get over it. I'm more concerned that I can't beat the puresteel paladin challenge because I cant tap a land for mana with the Sword of Feast and Famine trigger on the stack. Edit: but I found another way to do it. Laaaame. My way gave about 3 other ways to do it
Have you tried your alternate methods? I've had alternative approaches that I thought would work, but ended up not being functional. I don't remember the details of that challenge though, I kind of blazed through them all right when I got the game.
I tried again and again. I put in all promos in all possible combinations (with GC, without GC, playing before, after, checking deck builder , etc.) The fact only one promo card stays in my deck after I switch back and forth to the app is no longer acceptable. Dev can I expect a fix before the promo expires? If not, I ask for a refund and forget the game.
Yes, the promo cards disappear after a complete re-start of the game. Is this behavior the same for everyone?
Nope, I still got them. What hardware are you guys on, etc.? You know, the sort of info that might help them fix the bug.
Aww dang... I'm bit reluctant to delete and install the app again, but I guess it can't be helped :/ I think I exited Planechase battle mid-match and now the game goes back to desktop after two loading screens, even though I had exited mid-match - both normal and Planechase matches - many times before.
Have you (and others with similar crashing issues) tried to restart your device? There's ages old buggy behavior in iOS causing some apps to crash when you try to launch them but restarting the device solves it. And while discussion/reporting such crashiness it would be a good idea to tell at least the device model and iOS version on which it happens because Wizards is actually present in these forums forwarding feedback to appropriate directions.
